The Longhorns gave up four runs in the sixth inning and dropped the series finale to the Hoosiers.

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball was unable to complete the sweep of Indiana, falling 4-2 to the Hoosiers in the series finale on Sunday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (3-4) held a 2-0 lead heading into the sixth inning but the Hoosiers scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to get the win.

Travis Sthele started and had the longest outing of his career, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out six batters. He was charged with three runs on five hits but he didn't allow any free passes.

Charlie Hurley pitched the final three innings out of the bullpen and was outstanding, allowing just one hit and striking out six batters.

Mitchell Daly went 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored and Porter Brown was 1-for-4 with a solo homer.

Brown blasted the Longhorns into the lead in the bottom of the first with his third home run of the season, a solo shot to left field.

The Longhorns added a run to the lead in the third after Daly started the inning with a double and later scored on an RBI groundout by Dylan Campbell.

Indiana took the 4-2 lead with four runs in the sixth inning, chasing Sthele from the game and getting into the Longhorns' bullpen. Chris Stuart was able to get a groundout to get out of the jam and leave a runner stranded at second.

Texas will close out the five-game homestand against No. 1 LSU on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
