Hailey Hernandez wins 1-meter title.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 1/2 Texas diving program completed its four-day meet at the USA Diving Winter Nationals led by Hailey Hernandez's first-place finish on the 1-meter.
All five divers reached the finals and the women finished second in the nation, while combined, both the men and women finished fourth in team points.
Hernandez began the competition with a score of 506.75 points to win the 1-meter by one point over Sophie Verzyl.
Freshman Luke Forester reached the final on 1-meter after scoring 657.60 points and was seventh overall. His final dive of a 405C was his top-scoring dive with 65.10 points. He added another seventh-place finish on 3-meter with 688.20 points.
The women later sent two to the final of the 10-meter platform. Sophomore Bayleigh Cranford finished just off the podium in fourth after scoring 558.15 points, while freshman Taylor Fox was seventh with 504.25.
Sophomore Tanner Braunton closed the competition on the men's 10-meter platform and was seventh with a total of 738.10 points. It was the first time in his career he qualified for a USA National Final.
