Texas looks for first regular season championship since 2010 during three-game series in Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas – Entering the final weekend of the regular season, The University of Texas' softball program sits in prime position to win the 2024 Big 12 Conference regular season championship.
Eyeing a three-game sweep of seventh-place Texas Tech while first-place Oklahoma has a three-game series against third-place Oklahoma State, the Longhorns are slated to begin its series against the Red Raiders at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, May 3. Saturday and Sunday's games are scheduled for 1 p.m. Ct and 12 p.m. CT, respectively. All three softball games between UT and TTU will be available to stream on ESPN+.
TELEVISION: Chris Sylvester (play by play) will serve as the talent for the ESPN+ broadcasts throughout the weekend.

- Just a single game back in the Big 12 Conference standings heading into the final weekend of the regular season, Texas (42-6, 20-4) will be looking for its first Big 12 regular season conference championship since 2010 as the Longhorns play a three-game series at Texas Tech that begins at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, May 3.

- Additionally, Atwood is just 16 total bases shy of tying Janae Jefferson's single-season total bases record (141) established during the 2022 campaign.
- A sweep of the three-game series by Texas would extend the Longhorns' current winning streak to 16 consecutive games, which would tie for the fifth-longest winning streak in the program's history.
- The 2003 team won 16 games in a row from Feb. 5, 2003 to Feb. 19, 2003.
- The program's longest winning streak is 24 — set during the 2006 season — and would require the 2024 Longhorns to sweep Texas Tech, win three consecutive games in the 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship and then three straight contests in a potential NCAA Austin Regional.
- The 2003 team won 16 games in a row from Feb. 5, 2003 to Feb. 19, 2003.
