Texas looking for its best-ever start to a season under head coach Mike White on trip to Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz. – Following a successful Bevo Classic on the Forty Acres last weekend, The University of Texas softball program will, again, take its talents on the road as the nation's top-ranked team will participate in this weekend's Hillenbrand Invitational hosted by the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, Ariz.
TELEVISION: Texas' games against No. 18/20 Stanford, Colorado State and UC Davis will be available to stream on FloCollege for a subscription fee. However, the Longhorns' Saturday afternoon showdown against No. 13/11 Arizona can be watched on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY:
- Stanford
- Friday will mark the fifth time Stanford and Texas have played each over since Feb. 16, 2024.
- Over that span, the Longhorns are 3-1 with the last two victories coming in the 2024 Women's College World Series (WCWS)
- This weekend will mark the fourth time Texas and Stanford have played a softball game in the state of Arizona following three previous meetings in Tempe, Ariz.
- The Longhorns are 3-1 in such games with the last occurring on Feb. 7, 2015.
- UT's last win (7-6) over the Cardinal in Arizona happened on Feb. 10, 2007.
- The Longhorns are 3-1 in such games with the last occurring on Feb. 7, 2015.
- In four of Texas' seven all-time wins over Stanford, the Longhorn pitching staff has held the Cardinal without a run, including last season's two WCWS meeting.

- Texas will take an 11-1 all-time record against Colorado State into Friday's meeting.
- The Longhorns have won the last three consecutive games against the Rams after dropping a meeting during the 2018 season.

- Friday's game will mark the first time the two softball programs have met for a game in a city other than Austin, Texas.
- Six of Texas' 11 wins over Colorado State have come via run rule, including two of the last three.
- The Rams have not scored a run against Longhorn pitching since Feb. 8, 2020, when Colorado State scored on a fielder's choice in the top of the fifth, a span of 13 consecutive innings played.

- Texas and UC Davis have met only once prior to this weekend: Feb. 27, 2010.
- The Longhorns earned a 14-5, five-inning win in a game played in Cathedral City, Calif.

- Arizona
- Saturday afternoon's matchup between Texas and Arizona will mark the first time the two have met on a softball diamond since June 5, 2022, when the Longhorns earned a 5-2 victory at the Women's College World Series.
- Having won the last meeting between the two, Texas will be looking for back-to-back wins in the series history since Feb. 26, 2006 and March 19, 2006, when the Longhorns earned back-to-back 1-0 victories over the Wildcats.
- This weekend will mark Texas' first game in Tucson, Ariz., since March 5, 2017.
- The Longhorns will be looking for their first-ever win over the Wildcats in Tucson as Texas enters the weekend with an 0-3 record.
- When including games played in Phoenix and Tempe, Texas is 1-9 all time against Arizona in games played within the state of Arizona.

LEADING OFF
- A sweep of its five games over the upcoming three days would push Texas' record to 15-0, marking the best start by a Longhorn squad under seventh-year head coach Mike White.
- The previous best start to a season by a UT squad under Coach White is 14-0 by the 2020 team before it dropped a 1-0 contest to Duke on Feb. 22.
- Texas has only started a season 15-0 once throughout its program history: 2003, when the then-sophomore Cat Osterman guided the Longhorns to a program-best 16-0 start to the season.
- Texas has only played three softball games in Tucson, Ariz., where the Wildcats hosted the Longhorns for a three-game series spanning three days – March 3, March 4, March 5 – during the 2017 season.
