No. 14 Women’s Tennis earns No. 14 national seed for NCAA Championship

The Longhorns receive a top-16 national seed for the seventh-straight season and will host Baylor, Boise State and Grand Canyon from May 2-3.
Austin – No. 14 Texas Women's Tennis has earned the No. 14 national seed in the 2025 NCAA Championship field, the NCAA announced Monday. The Longhorns will host First and Second Round matches on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, at the Texas Tennis Center.
It marks the seventh-straight season the Longhorns have been a top-16 national seed in the tournament. Texas (16-10) will face Grand Canyon (13-10) in the first round at 1 p.m. CT on Friday, May 2, while No. 22 Baylor (20-5) will meet Boise State (19-5) in the other first-round match at 10 a.m. CT that day. The two winners will play in the second round at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 3.
UT will make its 40th NCAA Championship appearance and has a 69-35 (.663) all-time record in NCAA tourney play. The Longhorns have captured NCAA team titles in 1993, 1995, 2021 and 2022 and earned NCAA runner-up finishes in 1992 and 2005.
It is the ninth-straight year Texas has made the tournament field dating back to 2016. It has reached at least the second round in each of the previous eight, at least the round of 16 in the last four, and at least the quarterfinals in three of the last four.
