No. 2 Women’s Swimming and Diving falls at Eddie Reese Texas Showdown

Texas finished second with 487 points behind Louisville (488), followed by Ohio State with 227.
AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming & Diving team wrapped up Friday and Saturday morning competition at the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown in second place with 487 points, trailing Louisville (488) and ahead of Ohio State (227) at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Texas opened the AM sessions in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 1:19.24.
In the 50-yard breaststroke, Ella Mongenel placed fifth in 29.21, followed by Lindsey Hosch in sixth at 29.38, while Haley McDonald finished 10th in 29.16.
The 200-yard breaststroke featured multiple Texas swimmers, led by Campbell Stoll, who placed fourth in 2:12.34. Campbell Chase followed in fifth at 2:14.99, Avery Collins finished sixth in 2:16.10, and Hosch placed eighth in 2:18.31.
Texas earned key sprint points in the 50-yard freestyle, as Eva Okaro finished second in 21.75, while Alexa Fulton placed fifth in 22.70. Erin Gemmell and Sienna Schellenger tied for sixth, both touching in 22.86.
In the 200-yard freestyle time trial, Inez Miller posted a time of 1:44.56.
The Longhorns closed the morning with a strong showing on the boards in 1-meter diving, sweeping the top two spots. Bayleigh Cranford won the event with 291.55 points, followed by Alejandra Estudillo in second at 288.05. Caroline Kupka placed ninth with 273.30, and Sarah Carruthers finished 12th at 257.35.
Up next, Texas will compete in the Sterkel Classic on January 31, 2026.
