AUSTIN, Texas – No. 9 Texas Volleyball continues its road trip Sunday, traveling to Norman to face Oklahoma at 2 p.m. CT at McCasland Field House. The Longhorns enter the match riding a three-match winning streak after earning a four-set victory at Arkansas on Friday.
Texas rallied after dropping the opening set to defeat the Razorbacks, 22-25, 29-27, 25-20, 25-19. Senior outside hitter Torrey Stafford led Texas with a season-high 29 kills on .348 hitting and added 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Senior libero Ramsey Gary set the Texas rally-scoring era record with a career-high 33 digs, the most by a Longhorn in a four-set match and the second-most in program history.
Oklahoma enters Sunday's match after earning a five-set victory over defending national champion and No. 12 Texas A&M on Wednesday. The Sooners rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win 17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11, handing the Aggies their first SEC loss of the season.
THE MATCHUP
- Sunday will be the 71st all-time meeting between Texas and Oklahoma. The Longhorns lead the series, 65-5, and have won two straight meetings and 23 of the last 24.
- Texas holds a 29-2 record against Oklahoma in true road matches, including its most recent trip to Norman in 2024.
OKLAHOMA AT A GLANCE
- Oklahoma enters Sunday with a 9-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in SEC play. The Sooners most recently rallied for a five-set victory over No. 12 Texas A&M on Wednesday at McCasland Field House.
- The win marked Oklahoma's first home victory over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 20 Tennessee on Sept. 29, 2024.
- Four Sooners recorded double-digit kills against Texas A&M as Oklahoma totaled 62 kills in the match. The Sooners overcame a third-set deficit, held off a late Aggies rally in the fourth and pulled away late in the decisive fifth set.
STAFFORD'S SENIOR STEP
- Senior outside hitter Torrey Stafford leads Texas with 217 kills and is averaging 4.43 kills per set. She also leads the Longhorns with 236.5 points.
- Stafford recorded a season-high 29 kills on .348 hitting at Arkansas on Friday, adding 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. She also reached 1,500 career kills during the match.
- She has recorded double-digit kills in each of the last nine matches and earned SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 5, the eighth SEC weekly honor of her career.
GARY TAKES THE REINS
- Senior libero Ramsey Gary leads Texas with 196 digs and is averaging 4.00 digs per set.
- Gary established the Texas rally-scoring era record with a career-high 33 digs in Friday's four-set win at Arkansas. Her total was the most by a Longhorn in a four-set match and the second-most in program history.
- Gary became the fourth Longhorn to record at least 30 digs in a match and the first to reach that mark since the program record of 34 was set on Nov. 3, 1999.
BINNEY SETS THE TABLE
- Junior setter Rella Binney leads Texas with 475 assists and is averaging 9.69 assists per set. She has recorded six double-doubles this season.
- Binney posted a career-high 63 assists and added 10 digs in the win at Arkansas, earning her sixth double-double of the season. She was named SEC Player of the Week and Setter of the Week on Oct. 5, earning the first weekly honors of her career.
ANDERSON MAKES HER MARK
- Freshman outside hitter Henley Anderson ranks third on the team with 102 kills and has averaged 2.08 kills per set.
- Anderson recorded her first career double-double at Arkansas with 11 kills and a career-high 13 digs. She has posted double-digit kills in each of the last three matches, including 12 against Mississippi State, 13 against Alabama and 11 at Arkansas.
- She earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors on Oct. 5, the first weekly honor of her career.
ROAD HORNS
- The Longhorns have won 63 of their last 68 true road matches dating back to the 2019 season.
- Texas went 13-0 in true road SEC matches before suffering its first loss at Texas A&M on Oct. 31, 2025.
- Since 2011, Texas is 137-25 (.846) in true road matches, with only seven of those losses coming against unranked teams.
ELLIOTT APPROACHES MILESTONES
- Head coach Jerritt Elliott is in his 26th season at Texas and enters Sunday's match with 693 career Division I victories and 643 wins at Texas.
- Elliott is seven wins away from 700 career Division I victories and seven wins away from 650 at Texas. His 693 career wins rank fourth among active Division I coaches, while his 643 victories at Texas rank 21st all time among coaches at a single Division I institution.
