Rori Harmon records her 1,500th career point and breaks 45-year-old program steals record in victory.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 4 Texas Women's Basketball team had four players score in double digits in their rematch against No. 5 LSU, winning over the Tigers 77-64.
Rori Harmon had a stand out game securing six steals, breaking the Texas all-time steal record (351), previously held for 45 years by Linda Waggoner. This is now her second time breaking an all-time record at Texas (all-time assist leader). She also surpassed 1,500 points becoming the 21st player in program history to reach that mark.
Junior Madison Booker led the team in points scoring 18 and added four assists. Freshman Aaliyah Crump (7-for-10) added 16 points and five rebounds and junior Breya Cunningham added eight rebounds. Teya Sidberry scored 10 points off the bench for Texas.
Starting off the game Booker scored the first six points for Texas. The Longhorns defense came out strong forcing, a steal under the Texas basket and a shot clock violation. During the first quarter, Harmon recorded her 1,500th point on a midrange jumper at the 6:14 mark. At the end of the first quarter Texas trailed the Tigers 17-13.
The Longhorn offense kept the game close tying the score at the 9:22 mark. Throughout the second period LSU and Texas traded shots back and forth. Texas took the lead after a 3-pointer by Booker.
Harmon registered her first steal of the game, tying the Texas all-time steals record. The Longhorns started a 6-0 rally which helped them take their biggest lead of the game. At the end of the half Booker led the team with 12 points and Crump recorded team-leading 11 points in the second quarter. Texas ended the half leading the Tigers 40-36.
Justice Carlton started the second half scoring four points for the Longhorns while Cunningham grabbed five rebounds. Harmon recorded her 347th steal, officially breaking the Texas all-time steals record. Texas stayed in the lead finishing the third quarter 57-53.
Texas scored the first 10 points of the fourth period as Kyla Oldacre scored six straight to open the quarter. The Longhorns held LSU to 11 points in the fourth period and 28 in the second half.
Up next the Longhorns will host No. 16 Kentucky on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. CT at Moody Center. The game will be televised on SEC Network.

- Texas won their 39th straight game at Moody Center and improved to 64-5 all-time at their home venue.
