Senior Christiaan Maas claimed the individual title against an elite field at the Southern Highlands Collegiate.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas senior Christiaan Maas has been named the Southeastern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This marks Maas' fourth career weekly SEC honor and third league accolade this season, as he previously earned Co-Golfer of the Week recognition on Oct. 15, 2025, Oct. 1, 2025, and March 19, 2025.
Maas is one of three Longhorns to claim an SEC weekly accolade during the 2025-26 season. Matt Comegys (Sept. 24) and Luke Potter (Feb. 4) previously earned similar recognition.
Maas won the individual title at the Southern Highlands Collegiate against an elite field that included the top two players in the current World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). He posted a 54-hole score of 10-under 206 (70-68-68) to finish two strokes in front of runner-up Josh Duangmanee of Virginia at 8-under 208. Maas, currently No. 4 in the WAGR, also outdueled both top-ranked Jackson Koivun of Auburn (7-under 207) and No. 2-ranked Ben James of Virginia (5-under 205).
This marked Maas' third career collegiate victory. He previously won the 2025 Pauma Valley Invitational (March 17-18) and the 2024 NCAA Austin Regional (May 13-15).
Maas and the No. 4 Longhorns are back in action on March 9-10 (Monday-Tuesday) at the Desimone Invitational in Daly City, Calif.
