AUSTIN, Texas – Junior first baseman Katie Stewart's two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth lifted No. 4 Texas Softball over No. 2 Oklahoma, 8-6, in Sunday's series finale at McCombs Field.

Texas improves to 33-6 overall, 11-5 in SEC play, 13-5 against ranked opponents and 18-3 at home this season.

It was Texas' first walk-off victory against the Sooners since March 25, 2007, when former Longhorn Mikayla Padilla scored on an error. Stewart becomes the fifth Longhorn to walk-off Oklahoma. It's Texas' first walk-off home run vs. the Sooners.

Stewart ignited Texas offensively with her two-home run performance. Stewart went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and also reached via HBP. It was her third multi-home run game of the season and the fifth of her career. Stewart leads Texas with 22 home runs this season and is one home run shy of matching Reese Atwood's single-season program record of 23, which was set last season.

Leading off in the bottom of the eighth as a pinch hitter, freshman Hannah Wells launched a solo home run down the left field line to tie the game at 6-6. It was Wells' seventh home run of the season.

Junior center fielder Kayden Henry had a monumental day at the dish as well, going 3-for-4 with a three-run home run – her sixth long ball of the season. Senior second baseman Leighann Goode smacked a solo home run of her own in the fifth. It was her eighth homer on the year. Freshman third baseman Jaycie Nichols went 2-for-2 with a pair of infield singles – her sixth multi-hit effort. Senior catcher Reese Atwood and senior designated player Kaydee Bennett had a base knock apiece.

Junior RHP Teagan Kavan (15-3) made her 18th start of the season and twirled 7.0 frames, surrendering four earned runs on eight hits while tallying six strikeouts. Sophomore LHP Brenlee Gonzales (2-0) replaced Kavan in the top of the eighth with a runner on first and no outs. Gonzales gave up a single through the right side that scored a run to give OU a 6-5 lead but retired the next batter. Senior RHP Citlaly Gutierrez (6-1) was credited with the win after replacing Gonzales and recording the final out of the top half on a fly out to left field.

After a scoreless first inning by both teams, Texas took a 3-0 lead in the second on Henry's three-run blast to dead center. Oklahoma cut the deficit to 3-1 on a leadoff solo home run in the top of the third and then added another run on a fielding error in the top of the fourth to make it 3-2.

In the bottom of the fifth, Goode barreled a solo home run to push Texas' lead to 4-2. Oklahoma answered back in the sixth and plated a run on a sacrifice fly to bring the Sooners within one run again.

Stewart got ahold of a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth – her first home run of the game – to cushion Texas' lead to 5-3. Oklahoma then launched a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 5-5 and ultimately force extra innings.

OU struck again in the top of the eighth on a single through the right side that score a run from second base for a 6-5 advantage.

Wells started the bottom of the eighth with a pinch hit home run down the left field line to even the game at 6-6. Henry then bashed a single to second base with one away before Stewart called game with her two-run walk-off win.
