Longhorns record consecutive 40-win regular seasons for first time since 2010-11
AUSTIN, Texas — In its regular season finale, No. 6 Texas notched a sweep-securing 12-7 win over Missouri at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the Longhorns (40-12, 19-10 SEC) registered 40 wins in back-to-back regular seasons for the first time since 2010-11.
All 10 Texas position players who appeared against the Tigers (23-30, 6-24 SEC) reached safely, as the Longhorns mounted a six-run fourth and put up a four-spot in the eighth.
Carson Tinney and Anthony Pack Jr. led the charge, combining for six hits and five RBI. Tinney and Pack Jr. both reached safely five times.
Across the three-game set, Tinney finished with a .538 average, three homers, 10 RBI and a 1.933 OPS.
In the decisive fourth, Texas collected five hits and sent 11 batters to the plate.
After consecutive free passes opened the frame, Pack Jr. delivered a run-scoring single to push the Longhorns ahead, 4-3.
On the next pitch, Tinney one-hopped a ground-rule double into the visitor's bullpen, padding the advantage.
Adrian Rodriguez followed by producing an RBI ground out to extend the cushion to 6-3.
Temo Becerra continued the offensive outburst with a run-scoring base knock on the first pitch from Eli Skidmore.
Four batters later, Josh Livingston added a two-RBI double to cap off the six-run inning and balloon Texas' lead to 9-3.
Missouri scored five times in the top of the eighth to pull within a tally, but the Longhorns answered with four of their own.
Texas reliever Cal Higgins (1-1) picked up his first victory in burnt orange. Higgins tossed two innings and struck out three. The left-hander allowed one run on a solo shot in the third.
Prior to Saturday's contest, the Longhorns honored Becerra, Higgins, Livingston, Jayden Duplantier, Max Grubbs, Dariyan Pendergrass, Connor McCreery, Ruger Riojas and Ethan Walker, as well as student-manager Estevan Flores with a special Senior Day ceremony.
Texas, which earned the No. 2 seed in the 2026 SEC Baseball Tournament, begins postseason play at 3 p.m. Friday. The Longhorns will face seventh-seeded Arkansas, 10th-seeded Tennessee or 15th-seeded South Carolina in their second-ever game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
