Men’s Golf’s quartet named to Golfweek All-America teams

Maas claims spot on first team, Potter on second team, Morrison on third team and Bennett tabbed honorable mention.
AUSTIN, Texas — A total of four University of Texas men's golfers have earned spots on Golfweek's 2026 Men's College Golf All-America teams, the media organization announced Wednesday. Senior Christiaan Maas was named to the 10-person first team, senior Luke Potter claimed a spot on the 10-person second team, senior Tommy Morrison was named to the 10-person third team, and sophomore Daniel Bennett was one of 20 players to garner honorable mention accolades.
Maas was previously named to the PING All-America First Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and earned his fourth career All-America honor. He became just the sixth individual in program history to claim four All-America accolades, joining Justin Leonard (1991-94), Brad Elder (1995-98), Jason Hartwick (2001-04), Doug Ghim (2015-18) and Pierceson Coody (2019-22). Maas earned membership on the Korn Ferry Tour by virtue of his No. 2 finish in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026 ranking. One of five finalists for the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award and one of 10 finalists for the Fred Haskins Award in addition to earning first-team All-SEC and PING All-Central Region Team honors, he played in 13 of the team's 14 events this season and posted a team-best 69.60 stroke average while recording one victory and eight top-eight individual finishes. Thirty of his 40 rounds played this year were par or better, including 20 in the 60s. Maas claimed medalist honors by two strokes against an elite field at the Southern Highlands Collegiate (March 1-3) with a 10-under 206 (70-68-68). He earned low amateur honors and tied for 10th at the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic (Jan. 22-25) with a 6-under 282 (70-71-69-72).
Potter earned membership on the Korn Ferry Tour by virtue of his No. 5 finish in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026 ranking. A second-team All-SEC and PING All-Central Region team selection, he played in 12 of the team's 14 events this season and posted a 69.65 stroke average while recording one victory and six top-10 individual finishes. Twenty-eight of his 37 rounds played this year were par or better, including 16 in the 60s. Potter claimed medalist honors at the NCAA Bryan Regional (May 18-19) with a 17-under 199 (67-64-68). He also recorded a runner-up finish at the Arizona N.I.T. (Jan. 26-27) with a 12-under 204 (66-68-70).
Morrison earned membership on the Korn Ferry Tour by virtue of his No. 6 finish in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026 ranking. A second-team All-SEC selection, he played in 13 of the team's 14 events this season and posted a 69.85 stroke average while recording five top-eight individual finishes. Thirty of his 40 rounds played this year were par or better, including 18 in the 60s. Morrison was UT's top individual finisher at the NCAA Championship, as he tied for 10th at 7-under 281 (69-71-70-71) and claimed a spot on the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team. He placed fourth at the Arizona N.I.T. (Jan. 26-27) with a 10-under 206 (70-66-70) and tied for fifth at the NCAA Bryan Regional (May 18-19) with a 10-under 206 (72-67-67). Morrison also posted a 2-1 record at the 2025 Walker Cup (Sept. 6-7) and helped Team USA claim a 17-9 victory over Great Britain & Ireland.
Bennett is ranked No. 16 in the latest World Amateur Golf Ranking (June 10). A second-team All-SEC selection, he played in 12 of the team's 14 events this season and posted a 70.46 stroke average while recording a pair of runner-up efforts and four top-eight individual finishes. Twenty-four of his 37 rounds played this year were par or better, including 15 in the 60s. Bennett was named to the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup Team International and will compete in that event on July 3-5 in Ireland. He placed second at the Williams Cup (Oct. 19-21) with a 6-under 210 (68-71-71) and tied for second at the season-opening Sahalee Players Championship (Sept. 6-7) with a 2-under 214 (72-69-73).
The Longhorns completed the 2025-26 season with a run to the Match Play quarterfinals at the 2026 NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa in Carslbad, Calif. Texas claimed four team titles and 11 top-three finishes during its 14 stroke-play events of the 2025-26 season.
Texas has advanced to NCAA Match Play (final eight teams) in nine of the last 14 opportunities (2012-13-15-16-18-19-22-25-26), dating back to the 2012 NCAA Championship. Texas is the ONLY Division I men's program to reach Match Play in at least nine of the last 14 opportunities. The 2020 tourney was canceled due to COVID-19. In addition, Texas, Oklahoma State and Stanford were the only three schools to have their men's AND women's programs advance to the Match Play portion of the NCAA Championship this year.
