Michael Cantu

Michael Cantu returns to the Texas baseball program as a student assistant for the 2025 campaign.
Cantu played in 140 games, earning 120 starts for the Longhorns under hall of fame head coach Auggie Garrido from 2015-17.
Following his Texas career, Cantu played six seasons of professional baseball with the San Diego Padres organization, including four years in Triple-A.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cantu resides in Austin with his daughter, Julietta.
