Longhorns’ lone fall game scheduled for Oct. 3 at Dell Diamond
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas baseball team will play an exhibition game against Houston on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Dell Diamond, as announced by head coach Jim Schlossnagle on Thursday afternoon.
In their lone fall contest, the Longhorns will be the home team in a nine-inning affair that is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. Tickets for the event can be found HERE.
The fall schedule provides fans their first look at the 2027 squad fresh off its NCAA-leading 39th appearance in the Men's College World Series.
Texas returns 14 letterwinners from a season ago, headlined by two-time consensus All-American Dylan Volantis, 2026 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Sam Cozart and 2026 Baseball America National Freshman of the Year Anthony Pack Jr.
The Longhorns bolstered their star-studded roster with the addition of the third-best transfer portal class and the fourth-ranked recruiting class, according to Baseball America.
In Schlossnagle's first two seasons on The Forty Acres, Texas mounted a 90-29 (.756) record, the third-highest winning percentage nationally. The Longhorns posted back-to-back 40-win regular season for the first time since 2010-11, registering a league-best 41-18 (.695) mark in SEC action during that stretch.
