AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2022)
Picked up his first win of the season against UTRGV (4/5)...threw one inning of relief with two strikeouts against Texas State (3/9)...pitched one relief inning in the season opener against Rice with two strikeouts allowing zero hits (2/18).
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2021)
Made 12 relief appearances and did not allow a run in 2021…finished with a 0.00 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched…held opposing hitters to a .118 batting average…pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts at Texas State (3/3)…struck out two in a scoreless inning at Houston (3/7)…struck out the side against Abilene Christian (4/16)…pitched a scoreless inning the NCAA Regional against Southern (6/4).
AS A FRESHMAN (2020)
Made three relief appearances and compiled a 7.71ERA in 2.1 innings pitched...struck out six batters to only one walk and one hit allowed...opponents only batted .125 against him...struck out the side around a hit against Boise State on Feb. 21 in first career appearance.
HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered in every season at Rouse High School under head coach Chad Krempin…named to Texas Sports Writers Association All-State team as a senior…two-time unanimous first team All-District pitcher in 2017 and 2018 and the unanimous district MVP in 2019…struck out 100 batters in 55 innings pitched during senior season…won a team award in each season, being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017, Pitcher of the Year in 2018 and MVP in 2019…competed for Texas in the States Play Series, at the Area Code Underclass Games, and the Future Stars Series… pitched, played first, and caught at Rouse…Academic All-District all four seasons…member of PALS and National Honor Society.

Son of Ray and Estela Southard…has one brother, Tyson…selected by the Los Angeles Angels (20th round) in the 2019 MLB Draft.
