AS A SOPHOMORE (2020)
Named first team Academic All-Big 12...served as the Saturday starter as a sophomore, pitching 25 innings and compiling a stellar 1.80 ERA...struck out 26 batters and walked just four in 25 innings...opponents batted just .196 against him...had seven strikeouts over 6 innings and recorded the win against Arkansas on Feb. 29…pitched a complete game and had seven strikeouts while only allowing two hits during the win against Boise State on Feb. 22…first appearance on the mound of the season was at Rice on Feb. 15 where he pitched 6 scoreless innings and had seven strikeouts and recorded the win.
AS A FRESHMAN (2019)
Pitched 15 times with eight starts as a true freshman...compiled a 3.40 ERA and a 4-1 record in 42.1 innings pitched...picked up his fourth win of the season with 6.0 innings pitched and one earned run allowed against West Virginia on April 28...tossed a scoreless inning of relief against Texas State on April 23...started and pitched 3.1 innings with one run allowed and three strikeouts against Rice on April 9...led Texas to a win at Stanford on March 7, pitching seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts…had seven strikeouts in 4.0 innings during his first career win on Feb. 26 against Sam Houston State…first career appearance was a start at Rice on Feb. 19, with 2.2 innings pitched with four strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL
Named a Rawlings/Perfect Game second team All-American and to the All-Region first team…a first team All-State and All-District selection while also earning first team Academic All-State honors…lettered all four years at Cypress Ranch High School under head coach Corey Cephus…also named second team All-District as a junior.
PERSONAL
Son of Brian and Misty Madden…has two brothers, Kannon and Easton…selected in the 34th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals.
