AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR(2020)
Named a first team Academic All-Big 12 selection and received the honor for the third-consecutive season...led the team with 21 RBI and three home runs during shortened season...started all 17 games at first base...produced a team-high six multiple-RBI games...finished the year ranked tied for 25th nationally with 21 RBI and tied for second in the NCAA with five sacrifice flies...went 1-for-3 with a solo homer against Abilene Christian on March 11...drove in one run and went 1-for-3 against Cal State Fullerton on March 8...went 2-for-4 with two runs against Arizona on March 3...had two RBI and a run against Missouri on March 1…went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a home run against Arkansas on Feb. 29…went 2-for-4 with a RBI against Boise State on Feb. 22…had a two RBI double against Boise State on Feb. 21…went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and a run against Rice on Feb. 16…went 1-for-2 with four RBI and his first home run of the season against Rice on Feb. 14…first hit of the season was at Rice on Feb. 14.
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2019)
Played in 53 games and made 47 starts between designated hitter and first base...named to Big 12 All-Academic second team...finished with a .252 batting average and led the team with five home runs...second on the team with 10 doubles and 35 RBI...hit an RBI double in the win over Incarnate Word on May 14...went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored against West Virginia on April 27...hit a two-run double at A&M-Corpus Christi on April 30…had a two RBI double at Oklahoma State on April 20…had two hits and a season high 6 RBI including a grand slam against Kansas State on April 13…went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a home run against TCU on March 23…had two hits and two RBI during the win against Arkansas on March 20…had back to back two hit games against Stanford on March 8 & 9…had a home run against UTSA on Feb. 27…went 3-for-4 with two runs, a RBI, and two doubles against Sam Houston State on Feb. 26…got two hits three RBI and his first homerun of the season at Rice on Feb. 19…got his first hit of the season when he went 2-for-3 at Louisiana on Feb. 16.
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2018)
Named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American at DH…earned first team All-Big 12 honors at designated hitter and to the Big 12 All-Rookie team…named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team…finished with a .275/.407/.495 line to go along with 14 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs, good for second-most on the team…collected 45 RBI in 65 games (59 starts) while walking a team-most 46 times…from Feb 17 through April 21, reached base safely in a season-high 41 straight games…on June 17 vs. Arkansas, went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a double in his College World Series…hit a game-tying solo homer on June 3 vs. Indiana in the NCAA Regional clinching game…went 2-for-4 with three RBI and the game-winning homer on May 6 at Texas Tech…went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored on March 16 vs. Kansas…hit a solo homer on March 13 at Arkansas…hit his third homer of the season on March 10 vs. Stanford…went 3-for-5 with three RBI on March 4 vs. Northwestern…hit a bases-clearing, 3-RBI double on Feb 25 vs. LSU…went 2-for-4 with two home runs on Feb 24 vs. LSU…drove in two in a 1-for-3 effort on Feb 21 vs. Lamar…picked up his first career hit on Feb 17 vs. Louisiana…named to the 2017 Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN (2017)
Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules…over the summer, played for the Rochester Honkers and set a Northwoods League record with 22 homers and 41 extra-base hits…was a North Division All-Star and the individual champion of the Home Run Derby.
HIGH SCHOOL
Batted .440 with 12 home runs, 51 RBI and 33 walks in 36 games…named the 19-6A MVP and H5AB Hitter of the Year…also named Houston Chronicle Hitter of the Year and First Team All-State third baseman…compiled over 100 RBI in three separate seasons.
PERSONAL
Son of Debbie and Jeff Zubia…also played football in high school and holds school records in both passing yards in a season and touchdowns in a season…named the 19-6A First-Team All-District quarterback and Offensive Player of the Year.
