• appeared in 46 games and earned 29 starts in the outfield

• posted a season-best three hits, two RBI and one run scored in a 10-2 win over Louisiana Monroe (Feb. 26)
• connected for her first home run of the season in Texas[apos] 7-6 win at UTEP (Feb. 28)
• registered a team-best two hits in a 1-0 loss at Cal State Fullerton (March 11)
• equaled a season-high with a three-hit, two-RBI effort in UT[apos]s 4-3 victory over Texas A&M Corpus Christi (April 2)
• recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly in a 10-5 win over Nebraska at the Big 12 Championship (May 9)

AS A SOPHOMORE (2008)

• blasted a pinch-hit home run to centerfield in her first at-bat of the season against UTSA (Feb. 10)
• registered two RBI on her second homer of the season versus Michigan (Feb. 15)
• went 2-for-3 at the plate and notched one RBI in the conference opening 2-1 win against Nebraska (March 21)
• recorded a two-run double in game one and then homered in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Iowa State (March 29)
• hammered a two-run home run in Texas[apos] 5-3 loss to Washington in the NCAA Houston Regional
AS A FRESHMAN (2007)
•after missing the first 29 games with a left wrist injury, returned to action at UT San Antonio (March 22)
• appeared in 17 games, starting four contests, registering six hits in 18 at bats, scoring four runs and recording a home run
• earned her first career start against Georgia Tech (May 18) in the NCAA Gainesville Regional and started all four of UT[apos]s regional contests in left field
• went 5-for-13 (.385) at the NCAA Gainesville Regional, including a three-hit performance against Stetson (May 19) ... blasted a game-winning two-run home run in UT[apos]s 2-0 win
• posted her first career hit in a pinch-hit appearance against Missouri (May 11) at the Big 12 Championship
• earned her first career appearance as a pinch runner in UT[apos]s 6-1 win over UT San Antonio, swiping a stolen base and scoring the final run of the game
• saw action in UT[apos]s six-inning 11-1 victory over Texas Tech, earning two walks (April 26)
NATIONALLY
Played for the Fort Worth Batbusters under head coach Ken Graves ... the Batbusters finished fifth at the AFA Nationals in 2006 and second at the Colorado Sparkler ... the team also finished 25th at the Under-18 Gold Nationals in 2006.
BEFORE TEXAS
A four-year varsity letterwinner at Coppell High School for head coach Connie Hagan ... a three-time all-district performer at second base ... tabbed District 6-5A MVP and team MVP her senior season ... was named all-state, National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region and all-area in 2006 ... garnered team defensive MVP accolades her junior year ... received the 2004 Coppell Cowgirl of the Year award ... graduated in the top 10 percent of her senior class ... was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club ... also involved in St. Ann Life Teen and TAFE.

Full name is Brittany Marie Chalk ... born Jan. 22, 1988 in Dallas, Texas ... is the daughter of Linda and David Chalk ... has two brothers, Ryan (25) and Sean (18) ... corporate communication major ... her father was a three-time All-American third baseman at Texas from 1970-72 ... was a 1983 inductee into the Longhorn Hall of Honor ... he then played nine seasons in the big leagues with the California Angels, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals ... recipient of the 2006-07 UT Women[apos]s Athletics William Wallace Woodside Endowed Presidential Scholarship ... four-time Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll selection.
