Cross Country (Senior):
· Posted her highest finish of the year in the season-opening Texas State Invitational ... placed 10th in 19:23.
· Clocked a 19:06.7 for 41st at the Islander Splash.
2008-09
Outdoor (Junior):
· Ran a personal-best of 44:55.44 in the 1,500m in the Texas Twilight for 11th.
· Finished 11th at the Texas Relays in the 1,500m with a time of 5:10.45.
Indoor (Junior):
· Finished the 800m in a personal-best time of 2:28.04 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial.
· Recorded a PR in the mile at the Houston All-Comer[apos]s Meet with a time of 5:21.16 for 8th.
Cross Country (Junior):
· Placed sixth overall at the Texas State Invitational, finishing the 5K course in 18:11.
· Finished 48th (19:05) at the Texas A&M Invitational.
2007-08
Outdoor (Sophomore):
· Placed 12th at the Rice Twilight in the 800, crossing the line in 2:31.32.
· Also finished 12th at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Meet in the 800 clocking in at 2:34.03.
· Ran a career-best time of 2:26.91 in the 800-meters at the Texas Invitational, finishing 14th, for her first top 15 finish of the season.
Indoor (Sophomore):
· Finished the mile in a season-best time of 5:39.64 at the Houston Invite for 21st place.
· Ran a personal best time of 2:28.99 in the 800 at the Houston Indoor (1/12) for a 15th place finish.
Cross Country (Sophomore):
· Ran a personal-best time of 22:14 at the Texas A&M Invitational to finish 81st overall.
2006-07
Outdoor (Freshman):
· Participated in three 800 races for the Longhorns ... ran a season-best 2:27.42 at the Bayou Classic ... finished 18th at Texas Twilight (2:31.95) ... placed 23rd at the Texas Invitational running 2:30.58.
Indoor (Freshman):
· Raced to a season-best time of 5:32.31 in the mile for 35th at the Houston Indoor Invitational.
· Was 26th in the mile in 5:38.07 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial.
Cross Country (Freshman):
· Placed 28th overall at the Texas State Invitational in 20:23.
· Followed that performance with a 20:55 clip at the Texas A&M Invitational.
· Had the 36th-fastest time at the Islander Splash (20:28).
PRIOR TO TEXAS
· Earned MVP honors in cross-country and track and field during her sophomore year at Xavier Preparatory School in Phoenix, Ariz.
· Participated in the Junior Olympics in 2005 and 2006.
· Won the 2005 West Zone Indoor Champion at the Junior Olympics.
· Ran club for the last two years of high school under Juan Ramirez.
· National Honor Society, two time president of the science club, two-time president of science club and volunteer at Mayo Clinic in oncology.
PERSONAL
Born Lauren Brenden Kern on January 22, 1988 to Phillip and Carol Ken in Phoenix, Ariz. ... father was previously a member of the Texas men[apos]s track team from 1977-1979 ... majoring in aerospace engineering ... made the 2006 Fall Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll.
