Baseball sweeps No. 9 Texas A&M at State Farm Lone Star Showdown with 6-3 win in game three

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns scored three runs in the last two innings in a 6-3 win over the No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies for a sweep of the State Farm Lone Star Showdown.
Texas (34-19, 15-12 Big 12) broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning when Michael Torres hit a one-out double off the fence in centerfield, moved to third base when the centerfielder muffed the play off the wall and scored on a sacrifice fly by Travis Tucker.
In the ninth inning, Russell Moldenhauer hit his first home run of the season to tack on two insurance runs. Kyle Russell who drew a leadoff walk in the inning set up Moldenhauer's two-run shot which cleared the rightfield fence.
Texas A&M (42-14, 19-8 Big 12) drew first blood in the home half of the third inning, also breaking a 24-inning scoreless streak by Texas starter Kenn Kasparek. Kevin Gonzalez drew a one-out walk and scored on a double to centerfield by Kyle Colligan. Blake Stouffer pushed the lead to 2-0 with a single through the right side.
Texas responded with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth. Back-to-back doubles by Tucker and Jordan Danks put runners on second and third base. The duo scored on back-to-back sacrifice flies by Russell and Brandon Belt, knotting the game at 2-2.
The Longhorns took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth when Russell hit his 15th home run of the season and 53rd of his career to dead centerfield.
The Aggies bounced back with an equalizer in the home half of the sixth when Colligan hit a home run over the fence in right centerfield tying the game at 3-3.
Cole Green (3-4) earned the win in relief. He pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out two. Kasparek pitched 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six.
Kyle Thebeau (5-4) was saddled with the loss, yielding one unearned run on one hit while striking out three in two innings of relief. The Aggies' starter Clayton Ehlert worked six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five.
Moldenhauer spearheaded the Horns' arsenal going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Colligan went 2-for-5 with one double, one home run, two runs and two RBI. Brodie Greene went 2-for-2 off the bench.
The Longhorns return to action Wednesday at the Big 12 Championship at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Okla. Texas plays Missouri at a yet to be determined time.
