Moon leads Men's Golf in round two of Isleworth Collegiate Invitational

Round 2 Results 
WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Texas junior Alex Moon shot a 1-over 73 to lead the Longhorns in the second round Monday at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club.
Texas shaved 12 strokes off of its opening round and carded a 9-over 297 in the second round. UT ended the day tied for 12th place at 30-over par after finishing the opening round Sunday tied for 14th place. The Longhorns are without the services of 2010 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year Dylan Frittelli, who is representing his native South Africa this week at the World Amateur Team Championship in Argentina.
Alabama leads the 15-team event at 7-over par, while LSU and Stanford are tied for second at 11-over par. TCU sits in fourth at 13-over par, and Florida and Oklahoma State are tied for fifth at 19-over par. Tennessee's Robin Wingardh holds the individual lead at 5-under par.
Texas' Moon opened with a 35 on his first nine holes behind birdies at the 11th and 16th holes before finishing with a 38 on his second nine. Moon (Plano, Texas) is tied for 29th place overall at 6-over par. Senior Bobby Hudson (Memphis, Tenn.) sank birdies at the 17th and eighth holes en route to a 2-over 74 on the day. Hudson joins Moon in a tie for 29th place at 6-over par.
Sophomore Cody Gribble (Dallas, Texas) followed Moon's lead and shaved four strokes off of his opening round to finish with a 2-over 74 on the day with birdies at the second and third holes. Gribble is tied for 38th place at 8-over par.
Sophomore Julio Vegas (Maturin, Venezuela) took a couple of strokes off of his opening round and finished with a 4-over 76 in round two with a birdie at the 10th hole. Vegas is tied for 46th place at 10-over par. Sophomore Johnathan Schnitzer (Houston, Texas) carded a 10-over 82 and is tied for 67th place at 16-over par.
Texas tees off in Tuesday's final round at 7:50 a.m. Central.

"It was a better day today, but we still left a number of shots on the course, and that stings. We will have an opportunity tomorrow if we can build off of our finish today. Alex Moon played well today, and if not for a couple of mistakes, he would have been in position to play even better. We will come out tomorrow refreshed and ready to play."
