- Texas and TCU will play an elimination game on Saturday at Noon Central. TCU will be the home team.
- Today's game marked the 277th meeting between Texas and TCU on the diamond. Texas holds a 218-57-2 advantage in the all-time series.
- Texas is making its seventh NCAA Super Regional appearance and its second straight.

Individual Notes:
- Rightfielder Kevin Keyes' solo home run in the seventh was his 15th of the season and the 28th of his Texas career. Keyes is now tied for eighth on the UT single-season charts with Chris Abbe (1992) and Scott Coolbaugh (1987), while taking over sole possession of ninth place on the career charts.
- Keyes' two-hit performance was his 18th multi-hit outing of the season.
- Catcher Cameron Rupp's 0-for-4 performance snapped his team-best 13-game hitting streak.
- Reliever Stayton Thomas' 3.1-inning outing was his longest of the season. The righthander allowed two hits, while holding the Horned Frogs scoreless and striking out one batter.
TCU (50-11):
Team Notes:
- With its win, TCU moved to 17-12 all-time in NCAA postseason action and 1-2 in NCAA Super Regional play.
- The Horned Frogs' three runs scored tied the TCU single-season runs scored record, pushing their season total to 538.
Individual Notes:
- Lefthander Matt Purke's 11-strikeout effort against the Longhorns pushed his season total to 133 and moved him into second place on the TCU single-season charts.
- Third baseman Jantzen Witte's single in the sixth inning extended his team-best hitting streak to 10 games. Witte added a second single in the eighth to register his 15th multi-hit game of the season.
- Leftfielder Jason Coats' single in the eighth improved his current hitting streak to seven games. His hit was his 94th of the season, moving him into a second-place tie on the TCU single-season hit chart with Terry Trofholz (2002) and Royce Huffman (1999).
- First baseman Matt Curry's walk in the sixth was his 55th of 2010, setting a new TCU single-season walk record.
