Opening Statement:
It was much better today than yesterday. Taylor [Jungmann] pitched a great game and we played great defense behind him. The difference was, like yesterday, imperfections. Their imperfections, the big inning, we did a much better job of managing the strike zone today. We ended the game that way yesterday, but then we took it the whole game today. We extended our rallies with two outs, put balls in play, took our walks, and capitalized on the opportunities. It was almost the reverse of what happened to us yesterday.
On his message to the players going into game three:
I think that I've asked them not to buy into expectations and not to develop assumptions about what might happen tomorrow based on what happened the first two days. From our pitchers' points of view, hey, let's live in this moment, go from pitch to pitch, go from inning to inning. Expect a war tomorrow and be ready for it. There will be nine battles tomorrow and somebody's going to win the war. There's one game standing between these two teams and a trip to Omaha and a chance to win the National Championship. It's pretty exciting.
Texas RHP Taylor Jungmann
On what he was able to do to keep TCU off balance:
It's really in the preparation for the game. It's talking to Skip and to Cameron [Rupp] and making some pitches. Cameron called a great game today and the defense played well.
On comparing today's outing to what he's done in the past:
I don't really compare my outings. I thought I pitched better last week than I did today. I think I ran out of juice there at the end and that was disappointing, but other than that I thought I pitched pretty well.
Texas 1B Tant Shepherd
On their feelings going into the next game:
I think we'll come in ready to go. We're going to be ready, we know it's going to be a tough game. They have a good pitcher left and a good closer and all we can do is, as coach put it, come out and play in the moment.
On momentum taken from the game:
I think we can carry over some of the confidence from the hitter's standpoint. I don't think you can ever have enough confidence at the plate, and after a day like today, you certainly hope that that gets carried over.
TCU Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle
Opening Statement:
Obviously a bad day for us. Great day for Taylor Jungmann and we just couldn't match it on the mound or the defensive side. We just threw a couple balls away and it got away from us.
On what he said to his team after Texas' seven-run fifth inning:
I didn't say anything. We were getting beat and Jungmann had a lot to do with that. He was throwing well, and we chased a lot of pitches early. I didn't think he came out of the gates great but once he caught his rhythm he was really, really good. With pitching with a big lead like that, it's going to be a good day for the Longhorns.
On his assessment of how his team played:
I think we could have been a little more competitive with a couple guys in the order. We normally play really good, clean baseball and we threw a couple balls away, we had a little miscommunication on that safety squeeze. It's going to happen, it just can't happen again. You have two teams with identical records and we just have to try to win one game tomorrow.
On what he told the team after the game:
As soon as that last out was made the score is tied. That's all I told them. It's a zero-to-zero game. There was really nothing more to talk about other than that. So we will be ready to play tomorrow.

On facing Texas RHP Taylor Jungmann:
I would say he's the toughest I've gone against this year. He just throws everything for strikes and everything cuts real hard.

On where he struggled today:
I think I had a little trouble establishing my fastball which has been my bread and butter all season. The Longhorns made me pay for my mistakes and I have to tip my hat to them.
