Individual Notes
Closer Chance Ruffin notched his 14th save of the season and his 19th career save against Louisiana. Ruffin is now tied for fifth on the UT single-season saves chart and tied for fourth on the UT career chart.
Ruffin's five strikeouts against UL improved his NCAA-leading strikeouts per-nine innings pitched average to 14.02. The mark ranks second on the UT single-season charts behind Burt Hooten's 14.15 average from 1971.
Starter Cole Green notched his 11th win of the season, marking the first time Texas has had two pitchers with 11 or more wins (Brandon Workman, 12) since 2002 (Justin Simmons [16] and Alan Bomer [11]).
Rightfielder Kevin Keyes' three-hit performance marked his 17th multi-hit game of the season and his eighth three-hit game.
Keyes' home run in the fourth was his 27th career roundtripper, moving him into a tie with Brian Johnson (1986-88) in the UT career record books.
Keyes and third baseman Kevin Lusson's solo home runs in the fourth marked the 14th home run of 2010 for each player. They are now tied for 10th place on the UT single-season charts with six other Longhorns.
Lusson's long ball was his first of the year from the right side of the plate after blasting 13 homers from the left side.
Lusson's two-hit outing was his 13th multi-hit game of the season.

The Ragin' Cajuns' loss moved Louisiana to 20-24 all-time in NCAA postseason action.
The crowd of 7,140 for the Texas/Louisiana game was the second-largest crowd the Cajuns have played in front of this season.
The Longhorns' two home runs marked only the seventh time this season that the Cajuns' pitching staff surrendered multiple home runs in a game. Individual Notes:
Second baseman Jordan Poirrier's double in the first extended his hitting streak to a season-best nine games.
Poirrier made his first start at second base since May 16 vs. Western Kentucky. A groin injury had moved him to designated hitter the previous seven games.
Lefthander T.J. Geith made his first start on the mound since May 21 at Louisiana-Monroe. The Cajuns' No. 2 starter missed a start after UL went 0-2 at the Sun Belt Tournament.
Louisiana's inning-ending double play in the sixth inning was its 60th of the year, marking the second-straight year it has recorded at least 60 twin killings.
First baseman Justin Robichaux's three-hit effort was his 10th multi-hit game of the season and his fourth three-hit outing.
