Frittelli paces No. 7 Texas in round two of Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Texas junior Dylan Frittelli shot a 1-over 73 to pace the Longhorns Saturday in round two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
Texas shot a 20-over 308 on the day and ended round two in 10th place at 26-over par. California leads the event at 6-under par, and Texas A&M sits in second at even-par. Oklahoma State holds third place at 5-over par, and UCLA is in fourth place at 7-over par. Georgia Tech rounds out the top-five at 12-over par. Texas A&M's Jordan Russell leads the event individually at 9-under par.
Frittelli (Pretoria, South Africa) scattered birdies at the fourth, fifth, 14th and 17th holes en route to his 1-over effort on the day. Frittelli sits in sixth place at 1-under par heading into the final round. Freshman Toni Hakula (Espoo, Finland) shaved a couple of strokes off of his opening round and finished with a 3-over 75 in round two. Hakula is tied for 41st place at 8-over par. Sophomore Cody Gribble shot a 7-over 79 in round two and is tied for 49th place at 9-over par.
Senior Bobby Hudson carded a 9-over 81 and is tied for 60th place at 12-over par. Junior Alex Moon (Plano, Texas) also shot an 81 in the second round and joins Hudson in a tie for 60th place at 12-over.
Texas tees off in the final round on Sunday at 8:27 a.m. local time (10:27 a.m. Central).
