Texas (7-4, 1-2 Big 12) got on the scoreboard with Gaul's first career goal. Nina Frausing Pedersen drew a foul from Kansas defender Shannon Renner in the penalty box. Gaul took the penalty kick for Texas and pushed it past the Jayhawks' goalie on the right side.
The Longhorns knotted the game in the 77th minute. On a free kick by Pedersen, Lucy Keith headed a shot on goal. Stroud made the initial save but the deflection went to the foot of Kristin Cummins who deposited the offering into the back of the net for the equalizer.
