- A quick check of the most recent Big 12 Conference standings shows something very interesting (see page five of this note package for full standings). Texas, picked to finish sixth in the league during the preseason, currently sits in a tie for FIRST with nationally-ranked West Virginia. The Mountaineers still have a game in hand over the Longhorns, but each team holds 10 total points in the race for the Big 12 regular-season title.
- Texas freshman forward Alexa Adams picked up her first career selections to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week and as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13th for her back-to-back two-goal efforts in wins over Iowa State (Oct. 9) and TCU (Oct. 11). She became the first Longhorns player to score four times over two matches since then-rookie Olivia Brook pulled the feat over Aug. 31-Sept. 5, 2014, in wins over Nevada and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
- Texas has been terrific in close matches during the 2015 campaign, holding a perfect 5-0-0 mark in one-goal contests. The Longhorns already own victories in such instances this season over Miami (FL) (1-0), No. 14 UCLA (2-1), Abilene Christian (2-1), Kansas (2-1) and Iowa State (2-1).
- The Longhorns enter Friday night's match holding a 13-6-4 series advantage over Texas Tech and are 4-3-3 against the Red Raiders over the last 10 meetings. Seven of those last 10 match-ups have been settled by one goal while five have required extra time. UT knocked off No. 6 TTU at home last season in OT, 1-0, as Olivia Brook scored in the first extra session and the Burnt Orange & White advanced past No. 11 Texas Tech on penalties, 6-5, after tying 1-1 (2OT) in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship. UT is 5-4-0 vs. the Red Raiders in Lubbock.
- With four ties thus far in 2015, the Longhorns are quickly approaching the school record in the category, needing just one more tie to equal the 2007 squad (five ties). This UT squad is currently dead-locked with the 2014, 2010 and 2008 teams for the second-most ties in a single season in program history. Under Angela Kelly, Texas has played 17 OT matches, owning a 2-3-12 overall mark.
