- Playing four ranked teams in a single season definitely helps build the schedule strength as UT's slate is currently rated as the 32nd toughest in NCAA Division I (via NCAA RPI release) and 33rd toughest by overall winning percentage. Texas currently boasts the toughest schedule in the Big 12 Conference by opponent winning percentage at .607, ahead of Oklahoma (.583) and Kansas (.583).
- Texas enters this weekend with a 19-2-1 all-time record against Iowa State (8-1-0 home record), having won five straight matches over the Cyclones, and a 7-3-1 mark against TCU (4-1-0 at home), going 1-3-1 in the last five against the Horned Frogs. UT topped the Cyclones (W, 1-0, Oct. 3, 2014, in Ames, Iowa) and lost to TCU (L, 1-3, Oct. 17, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas) on the road last season.
- With four ties thus far in 2015, the Longhorns are quickly approaching the school record in the category, needing just one more tie to equal the 2007 squad (five ties). This UT squad is currently dead-locked with the 2014, 2010 and 2008 teams for the second-most ties in a single season in program history. Under Angela Kelly, Texas has played 17 OT matches, owning a 2-3-12 overall mark.
- Texas senior goalkeeper Abby Smith added another honor to her lengthy list of accolades this past week by being selected as the Big 12 Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 6th. The Plano, Texas, native made 10 combined saves in helping Texas to an unbeaten weekend (1-0-1) in league play at Kansas (W, 2-1) and Oklahoma State (T, 0-0, 2OT). The award marked the fourth Big 12 weekly honor of her career after previously being chosen as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, on both Oct. 5, 2012, and Sept. 10, 2013, and as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Sept. 25, 2012.
- With 28 career shutouts, senior goalkeeper Abby Smith now stands just two shutouts from breaking Dianna Pfenninger's school record of 29 blankings set from 2005-08. She has kept four opponents off the scoreboard so far this season and currently leads the Big 12 Conference with 67 saves.
