Hossler qualifies for third U.S. Open

AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Beau Hossler qualified for his third U.S. Open after tying for second at the Newport Beach, Calif. U.S. Open sectional on Monday.

Hossler carded a first-round 65 and followed with a 71 to qualify for the third U.S. Open of his career (2011 and 2012).

Of the 112 participants, only six qualified for the 2015 U.S. Open, scheduled to take place June 15-21 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash.

Hossler will join former Longhorns Cody Gribble, Brad Elder and Jordan Spieth, as Elder won his sectional in Memphis and Gribble qualified in Dallas.
