- Fans are likely to see a lot of corner kicks in Sunday's match between Kansas and Texas as the two teams currently rank first and fourth in the Big 12 Conference in that category, respectively. KU is tops in the league with 87 corners (7.25-per-match), while UT owns 77 corners (6.42-per-match). The 16 corners for the Longhorns during Friday's 2-1 (2OT) loss to Oklahoma State came up just one short of tying the program single-match record of 17 set back in 2014 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
- Overtime hasn't been kind to the 2016 Longhorns as Texas is currently 0-3-1 in "golden goal" extra time this season. The three OT losses equal the most in a single season in program history, tying the 2012, 2011, 2000 and 1999 Texas squads in the tough luck category. Just as a heads-up, the three consecutive OT matches for Texas equals the second-most extra time contests in a row in program history (Sept. 7-19, 2008 & Oct. 22-27, 2004), behind only a stretch of four-straight OT match-ups from Sept. 16-30, 1994.
- Texas leads the all-time series against Kansas by a 15-5-2 margin over 22 total contests. The Longhorns are 7-1-1 in match-ups in Austin, but lost the most recent meeting at home against the Jayhawks by a 1-0 result back on Oct. 10, 2014. KU has taken two of the last three games in the series over the Burnt Orange & White and the two split a pair of match-ups last season with Texas prevailing during the regular season in Lawrence, Kan., 2-1, before Kansas knocked the Horns out of the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals, 2-1.
- Texas enters Sunday's contest coming off another difficult overtime loss with a 2-1 (2OT) defeat at the hands of Oklahoma State on Fri., Sept. 30. Sophomore midfielder Kayra Dollas scored her first goal of the season at 61:10 to grant the Longhorns a short-lived lead. Unfortunately for UT, OSU's Courtney Dike found the equalizer at 70:04 and Haley Woodard finished off the Cowgirl victory at 103:08 in double overtime.
- The difference between home and road offensive effectiveness this season for Texas is fairly striking. UT's offense is averaging 2.1 goals and 16.9 shots-per-match at home this season, while totaling just 1.3 goals and 11.8 shots-per-match on the road. Conversely, the Longhorns defense is allowing just 0.9 goals and 9.6 shots-per-match at home while giving up 1.3 goals and 13.8 shots-per-match on the road.
- Texas' defense is particularly stingy, having not allowed more than two goals in a single match since allowing three during a 3-1 loss at TCU back on Oct. 17, 2014, a stretch of 38 consecutive contests. In fact, an opponent has only scored more than two goals in a contest four times since head coach Angela Kelly took over the program (three times in her first season on the Forty Acres in 2012) and ONLY ONCE OVER THE LONGHORNS' LAST 81 MATCHES!
- Texas has had no shortage of heroines thus far in 2016 as four different players (one from every class) own match-winning goals this season over the first 12 matches. Senior forward Jasmine Hart had the match-winner against the College of Charleston, junior forward Olivia Brook managed the winning score against Sam Houston State, sophomore forward Alexa Adams tickled the twine to top Miami (OH) and freshman forward Tecora Turner scored in the 65th minute to knock off previously unbeaten UCSB. The most different players to register a match-winning score in a single season under Angela Kelly is nine in both 2013 & 2014.
