Junior Beau Hossler wins his fourth tournament of the year with his 8-under par finish.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – No. 7 Men's Golf won its third tournament of the season after shooting a third-round 278 at the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Tuesday.
Junior Beau Hossler carded a 69 on the third day for his fourth win of the season out of six tournaments played. It marks the fifth win of his career.
Hossler joins Justin Leonard (1992) and Ben Crenshaw (1972) as the only Longhorn to win four or more tournaments in a single season in Texas history, surpassing Jordan Spieth, Brandon Stone, Bob Estes, Brandel Chamblee and Tom Kite, who all won only three times in one season.
Only Crenshaw, Leonard and Chamblee have more wins in their Texas careers.
All four additional Longhorns finished in the top-15, while junior Gavin Hall and sophomore Taylor Funk earned top-five finishes.
Hall recorded his third top-10 finish of the season after climbing nine spots on the third day to tie for third. He made six birdies to only two bogeys in the third round.
Sophomore Taylor Funk posted the best finish of his career, carding a career-low 214 to tie for fifth. Funk followed a triple bogey on hole five with a hole-in-one on 11 and birdies on 10, 14 and 16.
Sophomores Doug Ghim and Scottie Scheffler both shot under par to round out the top 15 for Texas. Ghim made four birdies for a third-round 70 to finish 14th, while Scheffler tied for 15th with a third-round 71.
Freshman Steven Chervony represented Texas as an individual, matching his career-low score with a 72 on the third round to finish in a tie for 23rd.
Texas won by nine strokes over runner-up New Mexico, while Hossler finished two strokes better than New Mexico's Sam Kim.
The Longhorns will return to action for the Valspar Classic on Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22 at the Floridian National Golf Course.

Texas Head Coach John Fields
"This week at San Diego Country Club we wanted to build on our momentum. Beau Hossler led our team with his fourth individual victory. All of our guys played solidly. Gavin Hall had another top-5 finish and I'm really happy and proud for Taylor Funk. His hole-in-one on 11 will be memorable!"
