The Longhorns fell 2-1 to the Sooners on Sunday afternoon.
AUSTIN, Texas—After winning Friday and Saturday's ballgames, Texas Baseball dropped the series finale to No. 16 Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon, 2-1, at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (22-13, 6-6 Big 12) got on the board first against the Sooners (27-8, 5-4), plating one run in the opening inning. Texas loaded the bases before a Kacy Clemens sacrifice fly drove in his brother from third base to give the Longhorns a 1-0 lead.
Righthander Kyle Johnston, making his return to the weekend rotation, went six innings on the hill for Texas and allowed just three hits and one run while walking five and striking out four. The junior left the ballgame with the game tied at 1-1.
In the seventh, Oklahoma opened the inning with a hit by pitch before a sac bunt moved the runner to second. With one out in the inning, leadoff batter Ben Hollas doubled in the game-winning run off Chase Shugart (1-2) and the Longhorns could not mount a comeback off OU reliever Connor Berry (1-0).
With the 2-1 loss, Texas falls to 4-10 in one-run ballgames this season.
