Men’s Golf’s Fields, Ghim set for 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup

Head Coach John Fields and senior Doug Ghim will represent the United States at Atlanta Athletic Club from June 9-11.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Golf Head Coach John Fields and senior Doug Ghim will represent the United States for the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup at Atlanta Athletic Club from June 9-11.
Ghim is one of 10 golfers chosen from around the country, while Fields will act as Head Coach for the U.S. squad, taking on Team Europe.
Team Europe currently owns the Arnold Palmer Cup after defeating the U.S., 18.5-11.5 in Formby, England last summer.
The event will begin on Friday with morning foursome matches at 6:30 a.m. CT, followed by afternoon four-ball matches beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT.
On Saturday and Sunday, singles matches will begin at 8 a.m. CT with the closing ceremony on Sunday, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the singles matches.
Ghim will represent Team USA for the second-straight year and gives the Longhorns their third-straight appearance after Beau Hossler was chosen for the team in 2015.
