No. 8 Women's Golf in fifth following two rounds at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Papp fired two rounds in the 60s and the No. 8 Texas women's golf team currently stands in fifth place Tuesday following the opening 36 holes of the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate, which is being played at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
As a team, the Longhorns are currently nine strokes off the lead heading into the final day of play. Texas sits at 10-under-par (285-281=566). No. 5 Duke is in the lead at 19-under, while No. 2 Alabama is in second place at 17-under.
The ANNIKA Intercollegiate boasts a strong field that, including Texas, features nine of the nation's top-10 teams in addition to eight of the top-25 players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
A LOOK AT THE LINEUP
- Papp is currently tied for fifth individually at seven-under par with a two-round total of 137 [68-69]. She has totaled 10 birdies and 23 pars through the first two rounds. Papp is four strokes off the individual lead of -11, held by Duke's Ana Belac.
- Freshman Hailee Cooper carded a pair of even-par rounds in her first collegiate tournament and is tied for 24th individually at 144 [72-72]. She has totaled 30 pars on the week, which is tied for the lead among all golfers in the field.
- Junior Emilee Hoffman [73-72] and freshman Sára Kousková [72-73] are both tied for 29th place at one-over par [145, +1].
- Sophomore Agathe Laisne turned in a collegiate-best round of 68 in the second round after a 78 on the opening 18 holes. She is currently tied for 35th at two-over par.
- Cooper and Kousková each recorded even-par rounds [72] on their first collegiate 18 holes.
