Baseball wins 6-4 over Oklahoma on Senior Day

The Longhorns hit two home runs and got clutch innings from the bullpen.
AUSTIN, Texas – On the back of two home runs and timely relief pitching, Texas Baseball won the series finale over Oklahoma, 6-4, Friday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (27-27, 7-16 Big 12) scored in each of the first four innings and got out to a 6-2 lead and held on for the win.
The Longhorns struck first in the series finale, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Eric Kennedy walked to start the game and Duke Ellis doubled to put two runners in scoring position. Lance Ford drove in the first run with an RBI groundout and Zach Zubia made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly.
Ellis finished the game 4-for-4 at the plate with stole two bases. He was not caught stealing during the season, completing all 17 attempts to swipe a bag.
Masen Hibbeler extended the lead to 3-0 with a solo homer in the second inning. The Senior Day blast was the seventh homer of his career.
Ryan Reynolds went deep in the next inning to extend the Longhorns lead to 5-0 after three innings.
The Sooners cut into the lead with a pair of runs before Kamron Fields came out of the bullpen to get Texas out of the jam with a 5-2 lead intact.
Texas scratched out one more run in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 6-2. Kennedy and Ellis both got on base and Lance Ford drove in the run with a squeeze bunt.
Tristan Stevens came out of the bullpen in the fifth inning to get the Longhorns out of a big jam. With runners on second and third and nobody out, Stevens got a strikeout, a pop up and another strikeout to end the inning.
Stevens finished with 2 1/3 innings pitched and allowed just one run to pick up his third win of the season.
Cole Quintanilla pitched the final 2 1/3 innings and struck out three batters to pick up his fifth save of the season.
