Baseball players set off for summer ball

Five Longhorn pitchers to play in the Cape Cod League.
AUSTIN, Texas – Highlighted by five Longhorn pitchers heading to the Cape Cod League, Texas Baseball will send 13 players to play in summer collegiate wood bat leagues.
Kamron Fields will play for the Orleans Firebirds, Ty Madden and Kolby Kubichek will suit up for the Chatham Anglers, and Coy Cobb and Bryce Elder will represent the Wareham Gatemen. Opening Day in the Cape Cod League is Monday, June 10.
Three Longhorns are underway in the Northwoods League for the Duluth Huskies, Mason Bryant, Lance Ford and Owen Meaney. Ford is one of the offensive leaders with four doubles, 10 runs scored and six RBI and Bryant has four relief appearances with 14 total strikeouts.
Eric Kennedy and Cole Quintanilla are playing for the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate League. Kennedy is batting .300 with three runs scored through three games.
Thomas Burbank is playing for the Gaithersburg Giants of the Cal Ripken League. Caston Peter and Bryson Smith are competing in the Valley League for the Harrisonburg Turks. Peter has a double and a homer so far through seven games played.
