AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Named to the shortened-season Collegiate Baseball Newspaper All-America second team...landed on the Academic All-Big 12 first team for the second-straight season...finished the season with a 2.08 ERA in 26 innings pitched...made four quality starts to up his streak of consecutive quality starts to eight dating back to 2019...led the team in strikeouts (32) for the second-consecutive season...tossed 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run with five strikeouts against Cal State Fullerton on March 6...pitched 6 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts against LSU on Feb. 28…pitched 7 innings with 11 strikeouts and recorded the win against Boise State on Feb. 21…during his first appearance on the mound this season at Rice on Feb. 14 he pitched 6 innings with six strikeouts and he also recorded his first win of the season.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2019)
Was named an All-Big 12 second team starting pitcher...named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team...finished the year with a 2.93 ERA in 83 innings pitched over 13 starts...led the Longhorns with 86 strikeouts during the season...ended the season with ninth quality start of the year, pitching six innings and allowing three earned runs with six strikeouts against Oklahoma on May 16...tossed eighth quality start of the season with 7 1/3 innings pitched and one run allowed at Kansas on May 3...posted back-to-back 10-strikeout games, fanning a career-high 13 batters against West Virginia April 26...named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week on for the third time this season...against WVU, carried a perfect game into the sixth and pitched 6 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball...struck out 10 batters in sixth quality start of the season, pitching 6 2/3 innings and allowing three earned runs at Oklahoma State April 18...made fifth quality start of the season, tossing six shutout innings with six strikeouts against Xavier March 29...pitched another gem, throwing eight innings and allowing just one run on five hits at TCU March 22...following the performance at TCU, named Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season...battled for five innings against Texas Tech on March 15, allowing three runs on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts...allowed just one unearned run in 6.2 innings pitched with seven strikeouts against No. 2 LSU Feb. 22...Pitched six innings and allowed only one unearned run to pick up first win of the season...earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after Opening Day start at Louisiana on Feb. 15...pitched eight innings and allowed only one run with nine strikeouts and no walks.
AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
Finished the season with a 6-1 record, two saves, and a 5.55 ERA over 35.2 innings of work…picked up his sixth win of the year on May 15 vs. Texas State with three innings of work…earned his fifth win of the season with 2.2 innings against Houston…earned his second save on April 21 vs. New Orleans with 1.1 innings of work…made his first career start on April 13 at Oklahoma and went a career-high 5.0 innings…on April 6 vs. Baylor, tossed 2.0 innings of one-hit ball to earn his first career save…threw 4.0 innings in relief on March 25 vs. Oklahoma State an allowed just four hits and one walk while striking out a career-high five…tossed 3.2 innings on March 20 vs. Sam Houston State, allowing one run on three hits while fanning four…struck out four in 2.2 innings of work on March 4 vs. Northwestern…was saddled with the loss on Feb 24 at LSU…threw 1.2 perfect frames against Lamar on Feb 21 to earn his first collegiate win…made his first career appearance on Feb 17 vs. Louisiana and tossed 1.1 perfect innings in relief…named to the 2017 Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the 2018 Spring Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Pitched to a 7-2, 0.60 ERA in his senior season at Decatur HS under head coach Brian Tickell…threw back-to-back no hitters in the playoffs…named district pitcher of the year and first-team all-state…also played golf and basketball…named district pitcher of the year as a junior.

Parents are Jeff an Kasi Elder…has one brother, Erik…Erik graduated from Texas in 2017…Kasi played basketball at Sam Houston State.
