AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2019)
Played in five games with one start after redshirting in 2018...played for the first time for Texas as a pinch-runner at Louisiana on Feb. 17...made first start as a Longhorn at shortstop against UTRGV on March 5...pinch-hit against Stanford on March 10 and was hit by a pitch...also pinch-hit and played second base in 13-1 win at TCU on March 23...in the season finale against Oklahoma on May 17, pinch-hit and walked.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018)
Sat out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules…named to the Spring 2018 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
WESTERN KENTUCKY (2017)
Appeared in 40 games (25 starts) and hit .271/.315/.329 for the Hilltoppers…hit one homer and drove in 4…started 23 of the final 24 games of the season at third…recorded a 6-game hit streak April 7-18…appeared as the No. 1 play on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 by starting a 4-6-3 double play in WKU’s 2016 Fall World Series.
HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered in his final two seasons at San Marino HS (Calif.) and one season at Barron Collier HS (Fla.) in 2014…named All-Rio Hondo First Team and All-L.A. County Second Team in 2015 and 2016, while also being twice selected to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune All-Star Game…played in the 2014 Perfect Game Junior and the 2015 Perfect Game National Showcases…played in at the 2014 Perfect Game WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Fla.
PERSONAL
Parents are Bryan and Judith Smith…has two brothers, Marshall and Matthew…Bryson played baseball with Marshall at WKU while Matthew was a running back at Wofford from 2007-10…Bryan played shortstop at Campell University from 1978-79 and at Clemson from 1980-82.
