No. 6 Baseball falls 2-1 at No. 3 TCU

Tristan Stevens pitched a gem but the Longhorns’ offense was unable to going on Saturday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 6 Texas Baseball dropped the second game of the series, 2-1, to No. 3 TCU on Saturday at Lupton Stadium. The Longhorns (37-12, 14-6) will go for the series win in the rubber game on Sunday ay 1 p.m.
Tristan Stevens had a great day on the mound, pitching seven innings and allowing just two runs on six hits. He struck out four batters and issued only one walk.
TCU scored all the runs it would need in the bottom of the second on three-straight two-out singles off of Stevens
Texas got a run back in the top of the third after Mike Antico and Mitchell Daly started the inning with back-to-back bunt singles. Antico advanced to the third on a flyout by Zach Zubia and scored on an errant throw by the center fielder.
Daly and Ivan Melendez each had two-hit games for the Longhorns.
Texas got two runners on in the top of the ninth with singles by Trey Faltine and Daly but the Longhorns could not scratch out a run.
Cole Quintanilla pitched a perfect eighth inning of relief with a three groundball outs.
