Neugebauer Won Heptathlon with PB Score at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Leo Neugebauer won the heptathlon at the Texas Tech Multis and Open meet with a personal-best and NCAA-leading score of 6,021 points.
The score improved his previous No. 3 spot on the Texas all-time list by 61 points.
Heading into the final day of competition, Neugebauer led the heptathlon with 3,440 points. He began Saturday's competition recording a personal-best time of 8.18 seconds in the 60m hurdles for a third-place finish and added a second-place finish in pole vault at 4.95m (16-2.75).
He ended the day with a sixth-place finish in the 1000m dash with a time of 2:51.63, adding 749 points to his total.
Demetri Whitsett finished eighth in the heptathlon with a personal-best 60m hurdles time (8.44), a sixth-place finish in pole vault at 4.75m (14-7.25) and a fifth-place performance in the 1000m run at 3:02.36.
Phillip Frank concluded the final events by running 8.45 in the 60m hurdles and a 2:47.59 time in the 1000m. Alex Loving finished 14th with a personal-best 60m hurdles time of 8.31 and added a time of 3:!8.53 in the 1000m to close out the competition.
Trinity Tomlinson closed out the second weekend of competition in Lubbock for Texas in the women's high jump finishing with a jump of 1.72m (5-9.75) to finish eighth overall.
