The Longhorns ace has been awarded pitcher of the week in back-to-back weeks.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 7 Texas Baseball's Pete Hansen has been named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Hansen secured his second consecutive Pitcher of the Week honor with a complete game shutout of then-No. 23 TCU.
The El Dorado Hills, California native scattered three baserunners on two hits and a walk, and struck out 12, including striking out the side in the first inning. It is the only complete game shutout thrown in a Big 12 game this season, and matches the most strikeouts for a pitcher in Big 12 play since 2019.
For the season, Hansen ranks third in the league with a 2.08 ERA and 64 strikeouts, while his opponents' batting average of .178 ranks second. His career earned run average of 1.74 ranks third among active players.
The Longhorns close out a five-game homestand against Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
