Baseball walks off No. 14 Texas Tech to clinch series

Porter Brown scored on a walk-off wild pitch in the ninth to clinch the first Big 12 series win.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball clinched the series win over No. 14 Texas Tech with a 6-5 walk-off win on Saturday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (17-7, 2-0) went into the bottom of the ninth tied 5-5 with the Red Raiders before Porter Brown doubled, moved to third on a balk and scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch.
Texas will go for the sweep of Texas Tech on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Brown finished the game 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored. Dylan Campbell also had a big day going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Zane Morehouse picked up the win for the second-consecutive day to improve to 4-0 on the season.
David Shaw and Lebarron Johnson Jr. both pitched 2.2 innings of relief apiece. Johnson did not allow a run and struck out three batters, while Shaw gave up just two runs. Travis Sthele started and had to work out of jams throughout the game, finishing with 3.1 innings and three runs allowed on four hits.
Sthele got into an early jam in the top of the first with two runners in scoring position and one out but a pop up and strikeout were able to get him out of the jam unscathed.
Texas Tech scored the first run of the game with a solo home run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
Sthele got into another jam In the third but yet again was able to get a strikeout to end the inning with no damage done.
Rylan Galvan tied the game up 1-1 in the bottom of the third with a solo home run out to left-center field, his second homer of the season.
The Red Raiders took the lead right back with two runs in the top of the fourth to chase Sthele out of the game.
The Longhorns got a run back in the bottom half as Brown drove in Campbell with an RBI double to right field.
Texas grabbed its first lead of the game on three hits in the bottom of the sixth. Eric Kennedy started the inning with a single a came around to score on an RBI single by Campbell. After a double by Garret Guillemette, Brown drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.
The Longhorns got an insurance run in the eighth when Kennedy was hit by a pitch and driven in with an RBI single by Campbell.
Texas Tech battled back in the top of the ninth with two runs to tie the game up 5-5 before Brown's walk-off wild pitch in the bottom half.
