Max Belyeu hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning to lead the Longhorns to the series win.

AUSTIN, Texas – Max Belyeu hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning to lead Texas Baseball to a 6-3 win over No. 14 Oklahoma State on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (30-18, 15-8) will now go for the sweep of the Cowboys on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Belyeu had a huge day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a two-run double in the first inning and the two-run homer in the eighth.

Andre Duplantier pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to pick up his first win of the season on the mound. Ace Whitehead started and pitched four innings, allowing one run on just one hit with three strikeouts.

The Longhorns scored a pair of runs in the first inning, with Belyeu hitting a two-run double to drive in Jared Thomas and Jalin Flores.

Oklahoma State got a run back in the fifth after loading the bases with one out to cut the lead to 2-1. Reliever David Shaw was able to limit the damage to just one run with a strikeout and a flyout.

The Cowboys tied the game up 2-2 in the top of the seventh with a two-out RBI double off of relief pitcher Cade O'Hara.

Texas had an answer in the bottom half of the seventh to retake the lead, 3-2. Porter Brown walked, moved to third on a single by Kimble Schuessler and scored on a groundout by Rylan Galvan.

The teams continued to go back-and-forth as Oklahoma State knotted the game back up in the top of the eighth after a leadoff double came around to score.

The Longhorns put the game away for good with a three-run eighth inning, scoring all the runs with two outs. Powell started things with a two-out single before Belyeu blasted his 17^th home run of the season. After a pair of walks, Galvan drove in a big insurance run with an RBI double that scored Brown.
