Senior Christiaan Maas shared runner-up honors at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational with a 1-under 209.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas senior Christiaan Maas has been named the Southeastern Conference Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This marks Maas' second career weekly SEC honor, and he previously earned Co-Golfer of the Week accolades on March 19, 2025. Maas shared this week's league honor with William Jennings of Alabama.
Maas shared runner-up individual honors at the prestigious Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational presented by Charles Schwab (Sept. 29-30), a 15-team tournament that featured 13 squads in the top 25 of the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches poll. He posted a 54-hole score of 1-under 209 (70-71-68) to advance to a five-man playoff for the individual championship before sharing runner-up honors.
Maas helped the Longhorns claim a four-way share of the team championship at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, marking the first time Texas has won the event since the tournament began in 2014. This marked Maas' third top-six individual finish in his first four events this season.
Maas and the No. 5 Longhorns are back in action on Oct. 19-21 (Sunday-Tuesday) at the Williams Cup in Wilmington, N.C. Prior to that team event, Maas will represent South Africa at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships on Oct. 8-11 (Wednesday-Saturday) at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.
