Baseball’s recruiting class tabbed first nationally by Baseball America

Longhorns garner top spot for first time since 2020
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Longhorns' 2025 recruiting class was ranked No. 1 in the country by Baseball America, the organization announced Thursday.
Texas' incoming class is comprised of 14 freshmen, highlighted by eight players mentioned in Baseball America's top 500 draft prospects in July.
Brody Walls headlines the Longhorns' class, as the right-handed pitcher was listed at No. 160.
Meanwhile, southpaw Jack McKernan checked in at No. 164, right-hander Brett Crossland was slotted at No. 180, righty Cooper Rummel was ranked No. 191, outfielder Anthony Pack Jr. was listed at No. 210 and righty Michael Winter was tabbed No. 230 on the prestigious rankings.
Right-handed hurlers Sam Cozart and Grady Westphal rounded out the group at No. 453 and No. 464, respectively.
Earlier this offseason, the Longhorns' class checked in second, according to Perfect Game.
Overall, Texas added 23 newcomers to its roster, joining the 16 returning student-athletes.
The Longhorns are scheduled to play an exhibition game against Lamar on Friday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
