Men’s Golf tabbed No. 4 in final fall Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches poll

The Longhorns return to action on Jan. 26-27 at the Arizona N.I.T. in Tucson.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Men's Golf team is No. 4 in the final fall Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches poll, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Friday morning.
The Longhorns competed in five team events during the fall 2025 semester. Texas claimed a share of the team title at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational (Sept. 29-30), earned a pair of runner-up finishes at the season-opening Sahalee Players Championship (Sept. 6-7) and The Williams Cup (Oct. 19-21), and placed fifth at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Sept. 15-16) and tied for fifth at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational (Sept. 19-21).
Senior Christiaan Maas and sophomore Daniel Bennett paced Team South Africa to the team crown at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships (Oct. 8-11) in Singapore. South Africa completed the tournament with a 72-hole score of 29-under 547 to claim an eight-shot victory over runner-up Australia at 21-under 555. Maas became the first individual from South Africa and first from the African continent to win the Eisenhower Trophy with a four-round score of 22-under 266 (66-66-65-69), 10 shots in front of runner-up Declan O'Donovan (Australia) at 12-under 276. Bennett tied for eighth in the 108-player field at 7-under 281.
In addition, senior Tommy Morrison earned two full points with wins in foursomes and singles to help Team USA post a 17-9 victory over Great Britain and Ireland in the 50th Walker Cup Match at Cypress Point Club (Sept. 6-7).
The Longhorns begin the spring season with an appearance at the Arizona N.I.T. in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 26-27.
