SCHEDULE:
- Tuesday, March 25 – 6 PM CT (SEC Network+)
SERIES HISTORY:
- With a potential win over Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday, it would mark the third different winning streak that spanned three-or-more games for Texas throughout its series history against the Lumberjacks.
- The Longhorns will enter this week's game against SFA having won its last two meetings by a combined 19-2 score.
- Texas is 13-1 all time against Stephen F. Austin in games played on the Forty Acres.
- The Longhorns reeled off 11 consecutive home wins over the Lumberjacks during the early portion of the series' history, before SFA earned a 1-0 win in Austin on April 13, 2011.
- In 16 all-time games played against Stephen F. Austin, Texas has outscored the Lumberjacks 101-23 and hasn't allowed SFA to score more than three runs in a single game since Feb. 21, 1998, when the Longhorns dropped a 6-5 contest in Nacogdoches, Texas.
- A potential win over the Lumberjacks would move Texas' all-time record against SFA to 15-2, dating back to the first-ever meeting between the two programs on March 6, 1997, when the Longhorns won, 3-1, in Austin.
LEADING OFF
- With two more hits, Katie Stewart will surpass the 100-career hit milestone, joining Mia Scott (268), Reese Atwood (169), Ashton Maloney (168), Leighann Goode (116) and Katie Cimusz (106) as the active Longhorn softball student-athletes to be credited with 100-or-more hits during their time of the Forty Acres.
- Texas' leadoff batter Ashton Maloney will enter Tuesday night's game having scored at least one run in 11 consecutive games and 13 of her last 14 games played.
- Following her nine-RBI performance in three games against Auburn over the weekend, second-year Longhorn Katie Stewart now has 53 RBI in 96 official plate appearances in 33 games played this season.
- Stewart's 53 RBI is already good enough for ninth place on the program's single-season RBI list.
- She will enter Tuesday night's game against SFA just 37 RBI shy of tying Reese Atwood's single-season record (90) set throughout the 2024 season.
- Stewart's 53 RBI is already good enough for ninth place on the program's single-season RBI list.
- If Mia Scott (217) scores five runs against SFA, the fourth-year senior would tie Janae Jefferson's program record for career runs scored with 222.
- If Kayden Henry successfully reaches base versus the Lumberjacks on Tuesday, the second-year Longhorn will extend her active on-base streak to 20 consecutive games, becoming the second Texas softball student-athlete (Joley Mitchell, 23) to have an on-base streak of 20-or-more games this season.
- It would mark the first time two different Longhorns have had an on-base streak span 20-or-more consecutive games since the 2022 season, when Janae Jefferson reached base in 24 straight, while McKenzie Parker did so in 22 consecutive.
