Longhorn Nation,
LIGHT THE TOWER! Coach Schaefer and No. 1 Women's Basketball closed out the regular season with an emphatic win on Sunday and raised the trophy high as SEC Regular-Season Champions. Our Longhorns are stampeding into the postseason riding a 13-game winning streak to go with that gorgeous new hardware for the Frank Denius Family University of Texas Athletics Hall of Fame. Meanwhile out west, Coach Schloss and No. 12 Baseball hit the jackpot with three-straight wins and were kings of the diamond as Las Vegas Classic Champions. That championship belt looked mighty fine on our guys, and with a nine-game winning streak our Horns are back in Austin for five-straight at UFCU Disch-Falk Field starting later tonight (vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi). Y'all, as we flipped those calendars to March, we sure had lots to celebrate from another highly successful weekend. In addition to Baseball and Women's Basketball, No. 4 Men's and No. 11 Women's Tennis came up aces, No. 1 Softball won five more reaching 20 wins on the season (already!), No. 14 Beach Volleyball remained perfect at 9-0, and my goodness our Horns put on a show at the NFL Combine in Indy! There was so much TRIUMPHANT TEXAS FIGHT, and y'all showed up and showed out big-time, my friends. The crowds were absolutely awesome at Beach Volleyball, Tennis and Softball, and holy cow did you bring the juice and show incredible support for our SEC Championship Women's Hoops squad — and our amazing seniors on a Senior Day to remember. We can't thank you enough for your phenomenal passion, pride and never-ending support. As the confetti rained down at Moody Center on Sunday after another glorious accomplishment, I swelled with pride for this incredible team and the joy it has brought to all of you. Y'all are the absolute best, and there's so much more to play and cheer for!

Now it's on to the SEC Tournament for Women's Basketball as we head to Greenville, S.C. (with a well-earned double bye to boot, not playing until the quarterfinals on Friday). And there's so much more sports action this week (and on the horizon, too!). It's such a wonderful time to be a Longhorn, and as is our Forty Acres Insider tradition, this edition will focus on a recap of all we shared, discussed and visited about at last Wednesday's ANNUAL TEXAS ATHLETICS TOWN HALL. What an incredible night it was, and I'm beyond grateful for all who joined us or took time to watch on LHN. We covered a ton of ground, your questions, thoughts and insights were much appreciated, and I figured this week's Forty Acres Insider is a great opportunity for a recap. If you didn't have a chance to join us, you can view the entire discussion right here on Longhorn Network, including the full Q&A session.
So, before we get to all the Town Hall notes, here's to the victory lap for all of last week's success — the wins, the championships and fantastic times we had together — and all that we have ahead for Longhorn Nation! There's the SEC Women's Basketball Tourney, Baseball, Men's Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Men's and Women's Golf, Rowing, Softball, and Men's and Women's Tennis this week — home and away — so GET THOSE HORNS UP FOLKS, and let's Hook 'Em!

Mark your calendars for Football Fan Day on April 26
Speaking of spring, I know a popular topic of interest has been the status of the spring game. After many thoughtful conversations with Coach Sark and evaluating how to best prepare our football program moving forward, we will not be hosting a traditional spring game. But we're still gonna have a big 'ol party to celebrate our Longhorns and show y'all appreciation, so be sure to save the date for our Football Fan Day on Saturday, April 26! We'll have team autographs, the annual Team Shop Fire Sale, and plenty of fan activities that celebrate Texas Football gamedays. We'll share the full details as we get closer, but mark your calendars, because you won't want to miss it.
🚨 Mark your calendars 🚨

Born with Texas Fight! 2025 Football season ticket renewals have launched
Last week's Town Hall also served as the beginning of something all football season ticket holders have been highly anticipating — our season ticket renewal launch! After consecutive years of season tickets selling out, the demand is at an all-time high, and I want to thank all our wonderful Longhorn Foundation donors and season ticket holders for choosing to spend their discretionary income with us. With the anticipated settlement of the House court case, which will allow athletics departments to compensate student-athletes directly for use of their name, image and likeness, as well as remove scholarship limitations across all sports, for the first time since 2015, we are increasing the price of season tickets. This season ticket increase — which is approximately $13 per game per ticket — coupled with disciplined budgeting and cuts to expenses will assist in achieving our ambitious goal to fully fund all NIL publicity rights, as well as scholarships for all student-athletes to keep Texas at the top of every sport we sponsor. And remember, you always have the option to pay in full at once for your tickets or spread out payments using our payment plan that allows you to pay in 25% installments at the time of renewal, and again on May 1, June 1 and July 1. Your support is critical, and we appreciate you oh so much!
We will continue to elevate football gamedays … that means ramping up our signature experiences (Bevo Blvd pres. by H-E-B, Longhorn City Limits pres. by Still Austin Whiskey, Smokey's Midway pres. by Conecuh Sausage, Hook `Em Hangout, and Big Bertha's Bazaar), as well as all the wonderful in-stadium features that make gamedays at DKR the very best in the nation. And with a home schedule featuring historic rivals Arkansas and our Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown versus Texas A&M, this is going to be a season you can't miss!
Season ticket holders can log in to their account and renew today. THE DEADLINE TO RENEW IS MARCH 26.
For those who are renewing their season tickets, here are some key points:
• While the total cost of season tickets is higher, seat-related gifts, if applicable, remains the same.
• Longhorn Foundation members should view the new Benefits Chart for new enhancements including increased membership value at several levels, year-round benefits and experiences, and enhanced priority football ticket limits. Benefits vary at designated membership levels.
• Longhorn Foundation members must continue to make a minimum gift of $200 for guaranteed football parking access and a minimum gift of $500 to have guaranteed priority for Oklahoma tickets.
• Requests for tickets to the Allstate Red River Rivalry game versus Oklahoma game and away games for Longhorn Foundation members at designated levels will begin in April with a deadline of June 2.
• All fans who renew their season tickets will have the opportunity to participate in the Online Season Ticket Selection and Parking Process in late April/May.
• Texas Athletics is enforcing its policy for the maximum number of season tickets any season ticket holder can have. Current fans who already have more season tickets than the limits will not lose any of their existing seats.
• Parking passes for fans who select garage parking as well as some surface lots will be mobile parking passes.
• When you renew your season tickets, you can also purchase seatbacks for your seats at DKR-TMS at the same time.
• Renewing season ticket holders will be able to download their season tickets and season parking (if applicable) in late July.
• Beginning with the 2026 Texas Baseball season, we will decouple baseball seat gifts from football.
Interested in 2025 season tickets? Join the waitlist TODAY!
As of today, we have over 8,000 fans who have joined the 2025 Texas Football season ticket waitlist. If you are interested in joining us as season ticket holders this fall, please join the Texas Football Waitlist TODAY! It doesn't cost anything to join, but in order to come off the waitlist and have the opportunity to purchase season tickets later this spring, you must be a 2025 Longhorn Foundation donor by the football season ticket deadline on March 26 (minimum of $50 annual gift).
Navigating a new era of college athletics
College athletics is ever evolving, bringing new challenges and opportunities along the way. At The University of Texas, we don't just embrace change – we lead it. As we look ahead, we see a landscape that requires bold vision, strategic investment, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
One of the most significant changes coming to collegiate athletics is the expected approval of the House v. NCAA class-action lawsuit settlement, which will allow institutions the ability to directly distribute publicity rights payments to student-athletes. Should the settlement be approved, Texas Athletics plans to utilize the permissible publicity rights pool (currently projected at $20.5 million) to financially support our student-athletes. Our decision to make use of this publicity rights pool will mark a new era of Texas Athletics – one in which our ability to sustain championship-level success and fully support all of our 21 varsity programs is more critical than ever.
To maintain the competitive standard we are accustomed to at Texas, while also providing our student-athletes with world-class resources, we will need to continue doing the following:
• Invest in Student-Athletes: At Texas, our student-athletes are deep in the heart of everything we do. Expanding scholarship opportunities and providing financial stability through publicity rights will allow us to attract and retain the absolute best of the best in the country. By choosing to continue investing in what matters – our student-athletes – we are furthering our commitment to provide Longhorns the best opportunity to excel in the classroom, in competition, and beyond.
• Strategically Evaluate Department Expense & Revenue Generation: With the introduction of a new $20.5 million expense – one that will only grow over time – it's essential that we take a proactive approach regarding publicity rights. We are currently evaluating all aspects of our financial model and are keeping an open mind when considering any potential changes. Our goal is to continue allocating our resources in a way which sets Texas apart as the gold standard of collegiate athletics.
• The Future of NIL at Texas: Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) remains a critical component of our student-athlete experience and a major competitive advantage for businesses here at the Forty Acres. With new regulations expected to begin on July 1, 2025, we remain focused on creating NIL opportunities that help our student-athletes reach their full market potential while also strengthening business connections with consumers in Austin, across the state, and nationwide. The continued collaboration of Longhorn Nation, Texas Exes, and businesses across the country through NIL initiatives will be instrumental in our success.
All of this requires a strategic approach, thoughtful decisions, and most importantly – your support.
There are several ways in which you can make a positive difference to Texas Athletics and our student-athletes, allowing our department to thrive, including contributing to Longhorn Excellence or Texas One Fund, exploring partnership opportunities with our Longhorn Sports Properties team, and renewing your football season tickets if you are a season ticket holder.
We cannot thank you enough for your unwavering support, and we can't wait to tackle these challenges together, and we will continue to set the standard of excellence.
Facilities Updates
This past fall, we celebrated the opening of Texas Studios Powered by Dell Technologies, our state-of-the-art broadcast and videoboard production center. This project was a partnership between Texas Athletics and the Moody College of Communication through our Bevo Video Productions team. This allows us to provide tremendous opportunities for UT-Austin students to get real-life experience and produce in-venue and digital broadcasts at our facilities.
Our partners at 1883/Sodexo Live made significant upgrades to concession stands on the lower east side of the football stadium through the creation of new grab-n-go options that have transformed that entire concourse. Stay tuned as we are currently exploring other areas to address in the future. In addition, 1883/Sodexo Live unveiled the brand new University of Texas Club on the seventh floor of the east side of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. If you are interested in joining, their staff will be happy to discuss and help you choose the best membership that works for you.
Other upcoming projects around the Forty Acres include significant renovations to Bellmont Hall on the west side of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, including new premium suites and a new home for our Spirit Program. In addition, we are beginning our south end zone media center construction on both sides of the south end zone which will create a new home for our media on gamedays.
The new Football Training Facility project is well underway, and I'm very thankful for the partnership with Dean Allan Cole and the Steve Hicks School of Social Work for helping us bring that vision to reality.
Parking and Transportation Updates
I know many of our baseball fans have expressed concerns with parking options for this season. If you have visited east campus recently, you will notice the completion of Phase 1 of the Graduate Student Housing buildings. While we have been able to fully use East Campus Garage in years past for Baseball and Softball gamedays, we now only get half of the spaces in that garage, as the other half is reserved for our new graduate students to have a home to park. This necessitates the need to use the LBJ surface lots off Red River for Baseball single-game parking. I understand this option isn't perfect, but we have also added golf cart shuttle service to/from the LBJ lots to make your commute easier.
Our partners at TXDOT and the city are about to begin several road projects tied to the long-term expansion of IH-35. Beginning this month, they will close down the MLK Blvd. exit from the upper deck of southbound IH-35 forever, and the only exit for MLK Blvd. on southbound IH-35 will be from the lower deck. In addition, they will begin work on the MLK Blvd. bridge, and traffic will go down to one westbound and two eastbound lanes. Additional work on IH-35 will impact our Football postgame traffic patterns, and we greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate these challenges together.
Kudos to Suziann Reid, selected for induction into USTFCCCA Hall of Fame
Before we get to our notes, here's a shoutout and emphatic Hook 'Em Horns to Longhorn Track and Field Legend Suziann Reid who has been selected for induction into the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame. A 10-time NCAA individual champion, she was a part of a bunch of truly incredible track and field squads in the late 1990s and is so deserving of this honor.
congrats to Suziann Reid on being inducted into the newest class of the @USTFCCCA Hall of Fame🤘‼️#HookEm pic.twitter.com/CNC8W7jPbJ

Men's Basketball hosts Oklahoma on Senior Night this Saturday!
The calendar has flipped to March and RT and our guys will wrap up the regular season with a pair of crucial SEC matchups this week. But first I need to go back and praise the team's effort and fight in last Wednesday's heartbreaking overtime loss at Arkansas, as our Longhorns rallied from 14 points down to grab the lead in the final minute of regulation but just couldn't get over the finish line. And what about the performance by the kid Tre Johnson?! All our guy did was set the Texas freshman single-game record with 39 points while tying the school's freshman single-game mark for most three-pointers made by knocking down 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. This guy is special. The Longhorns are back in action later tonight at No. 25/nr Mississippi State (7 p.m. CT/SEC Network). Then it's time to pack The Mood for Senior Night on Saturday as we'll host a Red River Rivalry matchup against the Sooners (7 p.m. CT/SEC Network).

No. 1 Women's Basketball captures SEC regular-season title!
Texas Fight. Texas Fight. Texas Fight. I am so proud of Coach Schaefer and his team as I got a front row seat to see them win the SEC regular-season championship on Sunday in Moody Center. And how about a shoutout to Coach Vic, who celebrated his birthday on Sunday in fine fashion! That marks the fourth straight year that our Women's Basketball program has claimed either a conference regular season or tournament championship. Longhorn Nation, you sold out Moody Center for the third straight game, and we can't say THANK YOU enough for your consistent support of this team. Our ladies will enter the postseason riding a 13-game win streak and 29-2 overall on the year. How cool was SENIOR DAY on Sunday, as we honored Rori Harmon, Shay Holle, Taylor Jones and Aaliyah Moore, who have meant so much to our program and university over the last four and in Shay's case, five years! Shay Holle has won over 80 percent of her games here at Texas with a record of 138-34. That's just awesome. Sunday's 72-46 triumph over Florida was led by our suffocating defense that held an opponent under 50 points for the 11th time this year. Rori paced the team in rebounds and became the eighth different player to lead our team in rebounding this season. And folks, we're just getting started. Now it's on to the SEC Tournament in Greenville, S.C., where our ladies will open play in the quarterfinals on Friday (5 p.m. CT, SEC Network). And please be sure to save the date for the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Sunday, March 16 to see when and who we will host in the NCAA First and Second Rounds in Moody Center!

SEC honors abound for Women's Basketball
To the victors go the spoils for our SEC Champion and No. 1-ranked Women's Basketball squad. There was plenty of hardware and recognition given out by the conference this week as our esteemed leader Coach Schaefer was tabbed SEC Coach of the Year while our human highlight reel Madison Booker brought home the league's Player of the Year award. Count 'em up folks, that's four SEC Coach of the Year honors for our guy as Coach Vic garnered that recognition three times during his time at Mississippi State. And for our sensational sophomore, mark that down as two-time conference player of the year as Maddie was just that in the Big 12 as a freshman last season! Point Guard extraordinaire and our Court General Rori Harmon (who also was named a Nancy Lieberman Award finalist this week, too!) earned a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team while freshman phenom Jordan Lee was an All-Freshman Team honoree. How about this wonderful surprise from our staff to Madison, so awesome! And to top that, I had to have a little fun with Coach Vic!

Baseball sweeps through Las Vegas Classic and improves to 9-1!
VEGAS BABY! It was so cool to watch Coach Schloss and the guys break out the bats this weekend as they recorded three more wins and claimed the championship at the Las Vegas Classic. Our Longhorns got things started on Friday night with a hard-fought 10-9 victory over Washington. Texas then used a seven-run second inning to earn a dominant 10-5 win over Texas Tech on Saturday, and rounded out the weekend sweep with a 15-6 victory against Illinois on Sunday. In Sunday's final game, the Longhorns trailed 6-1 but showed that patented TEXAS FIGHT to score four in the fourth and NINE runs in the sixth to secure the victory. In addition to the team title, six players earned All-Tournament accolades including Max Belyeu, Max Grubbs, Adrian Rodriguez, Ethan Mendoza, Jared Spencer and Jalin Flores. And a shoutout to Jalin who claimed MVP honors after going 5-for-10 with two homers, four RBI and six runs scored over the three games! We're back at UFCU Disch-Falk Field later tonight against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (6:30 p.m. CT/SEC Network+) before hosting a three-game weekend series against Santa Clara on Friday (6:30 p.m. CT/SEC Nework+), Saturday (2 p.m. CT/SEC Network+) and Sunday (1 p.m. CT/SEC Network+). No. 1/2 Softball off to best start since 2012 at 20-1 on the season!
Folks, talk about a dominating performance from Coach White and our ladies this past weekend at the Longhorn Invitational. During the five games at Red & Charline McCombs Field, our Longhorns swept through the competition with a combined score of 40-9! Our 20-1 record is the best start for our program through the opening 21 games since the 2012 season. We got the action started on Friday night with back-to-back wins over South Florida (9-5) and Abilene Christian (9-1), before knocking off New Mexico State (5-2) on Saturday. The Longhorns closed out the tourney on Sunday with wins over South Florida (9-1) and Alabama A&M (8-0).
We'll take a nine-game win streak into this week's action as we host Baylor on Wednesday (6 p.m. CT/SEC Network+). Then it's back on the road for the Longhorns as the team will travel to Columbus, Ohio for The Ohio State Tournament. On Saturday, Texas will face Saint Francis (8 a.m. CT) and Oakland (10:30 a.m. CT) before taking on Merrimack on Sunday (4:30 p.m. CT). The Longhorns will conclude play with a pair of games on Monday against Dayton (11 a.m. CT) and host Ohio State (3 p.m. CT/Big Ten Network).

Tennis hits some SEC winners
What a heck of week we had on the tennis courts starting with the first two all-time SEC wins for Coach Joffe and our Women's program with one of those being of the Red River variety to boot! Despite the 2 p.m. start time on Friday, y'all showed up and showed out to help the team to a big-time 4-3 rivalry victory over the 12th-ranked Sooners! And let me tell you folks, if you received a food and drink voucher on the way into the Texas Tennis Center and enjoyed an icy soda and some great snacks, we all have Mr. Generosity Michael Huff to thank for those, and we can't do that enough! Michael and his adorable little daughter and aspiring tennis player Audrey came out to cheer on the Horns, and he asked us, 'How about I buy everybody's drinks and snacks to make it a special day?' And boy, was it ever! Our ladies clinched the OU match at 4-2 on Friday and then turned around two days later for another rival in the form of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and our squad swept them, 4-0! That's how you get it done at home before heading out on a four-match road trip. That trip will start out in Gainesville on Friday (5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT) against Florida, and then head up the road to No. 6 Auburn on Sunday (12 p.m. CT). Speaking of Gainesville and the Gators, that's who Coach Berque and the Men paid a visit to for their first-ever road SEC match on Friday, and they took care of business to the tune of a 5-2 win there. And as the Women head out on the road, the Men come home for a couple of big-time contests against No. 19 Mississippi State on Thursday (6 p.m. CT) under the lights at the TTC, and then No. 45 Auburn comes to town on Saturday (1 p.m. CT)! We need you out there loud and proud again!

Beach Volleyball continues fast start!
We had a big-time PARTY ON THE BEACH this weekend and it was so great to see Longhorn Nation out in full support of our newest program. Our No. 14 Beach Volleyball team hosted its first tournament of the season and went 4-0 at the Longhorn Invitational. Not only did Coach Stein's crew get the wins, but we also made some history with all our home matches being broadcast on KBVO and Longhorn Network! What starts here changes the world, right? With the four wins over the weekend, our ladies improved to 9-0 on the season. The Horns head to Fort Worth this weekend for four matches, as we'll take on Florida State (Friday, 8 am CT), FAU (Friday, Noon CT), Boise State (Saturday, 10 am CT) and host TCU (Saturday, 4 pm CT). Can't wait to see what's next for this team!
