Men’s Golf’s Morrison named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas Men's Golf rising senior Tommy Morrison has been named a 2024-25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday. Morrison was recognized for his success both on the course and in the classroom.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50-percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their respective college or university.
In his junior year in 2024-25, Morrison was one of 10 semifinalists for the Ben Hogan Award and was a second-team All-America selection by both PING/GCAA and Golfweek. A second-team All-SEC selection and a member of the 2025 SEC Community Service Team, he registered a 70.15 scoring average and placed in the top-25 in 11 of his 13 stroke-play appearances, including one victory, a runner-up finish and eight top-11 efforts. The SEC Men's Golfer of the Week (Feb. 12), 29 of his 40 rounds last year were par or better, including 17 rounds in the 60s.
Morrison claimed his first career collegiate individual victory at the 2025 Amer Ari Invitational (Feb. 6-8), carding a 54-hole total of 21-under 195 (67-65-63) and winning the title on the first playoff hole. A native of Dallas, Texas, Morrison became the first American to win the European Amateur Championship in June 2024 and earned an exemption into the 2024 Open Championship, where he made the 36-hole cut and finished in a tie for 60th place.
