Texas is lone SEC program with at least three selections on top two teams
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Longhorns Dylan Volantis, Carson Tinney and Aiden Robbins garnered preseason All-America honors from Perfect Game, the organization announced Wednesday.
Volantis was selected to the first team, while Tinney and Robbins landed spots on the second team.
In his debut campaign, Volantis was tabbed a consensus All-American, earning first-team plaudits from Perfect Game.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound left-hander was named the Baseball America National Freshman of the Year after pacing all rookies in Division I in WHIP (0.88) and saves (12). He also ranked second in ERA (1.94) and B/AVG (.185), among freshmen across the country.
Volantis' 11 saves in league play were the most by an SEC freshman ever, breaking a 22-year-old record held by Ole Miss' Steven Head. The NCBWA Freshman Pitcher of the Year and SEC Pitcher of the Year finished tied for 10th nationally in saves.
A transfer from Notre Dame, Tinney collected consensus All-America distinction as a sophomore in 2025.
Last season, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound catcher led all Power Four players in WRC+ (179) and wOBA (.535), while also posting the second-highest OPS (1.251), trailing only Tennessee's Andrew Fischer (1.257).
Tinney — who was one of three finalists for the prestigious Buster Posey Award — paced the Irish in average (.348), runs (52), homers (17), RBI (53), total bases (119), walks (34), on-base percentage (.498), slugging (.753) and multi-RBI performances (17).
Widely lauded as one of the best pure hitters in the country, Robbins received recognition as an ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team pick following his sophomore campaign at Seton Hall.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound outfielder ranked fifth nationally in on-base percentage (.537), while finishing sixth in average (.422) and BABIP (.482). Robbins tallied club-best marks in average, runs (63), hits (86), doubles (19), total bases (133), walks (44) on-base percentage, slugging (.652), stolen bases (20) and multi-hit games (26).
A native of Yardley, Pa., Robbins also garnered All-Big East First Team honors.
